Chief and Blue Team

I havent read the comics, but when Chief and the rest of Blue Team were reuinted for the first time in years, what stuff did they say to him? Stuff like, “Hey John…great to see you again” or something even emotional? I know this is a weird question, but ever since I we first found out that Blue Team was returning, I have wanted to know what they actually said to each other when they reunited.

Escalations Last 72hrs Arch was a let down, As it didn’t touch on this in a way we expected.

From what I remember it was mainly surprise and shock as they were not expecting to see him. They were obviously happy to see each other again but I felt Chief was a bit distracted as it was just after the events of Halo 4 and then they had to quickly go of on their mission together (and then the ones after that).

What these guys said. It was really underwhelming, and actually kind of out of character…in ‘First Strike’ they had a much more emotional reunion, and that was only after being separated for a period of weeks. :\ Though I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt (for now) and say it was handled poorly because “The Next 72 Hours” arc in the comics was really rushed in general. Hopefully ‘Halo 5’ makes up for it with better interactions between them.

Also when they stumbled on black team. There wasn’t any emotion there. I know Black Team wasn’t the most like bunch of the Group. Hell Red Team (Those on the Spirit of Fire) got in a scuffle with them them and one of them lost a eye. But the were fellow Spartans who they served with for 30 plus years. And John Cared for all of his spartans. I would have expected a little more emotion from Blue team with black team’s death

It was the most disappointing Spartan reunion of them all, especially since it was also the one people expected the most. We didn’t even get to see one of those two-finger faceplate swipes. That and Linda’s George Takei impression kind of ruined it for me.

I will never forget Kelly’s reaction to seeing John After his return to Reach. Touching his visor drawing a smile, and him wanting to return the sentiment but ultimately cut short due to being in a firefight for their lives :cupid:.

Oh man. That scene though…But in all seriousness, while I think ‘The Fall of Reach’ is super important for understanding the Chief’s backstory and his history with Blue Team, ‘First Strike’ is an absolute must-read if you really want to understand just how much the Spartans care about each other. That’s the level of connection I’m hoping to see with them in ‘Halo 5’ (and hopefully beyond).

IT was a travesty. A absolute lore shattering stupid travesty… Hopefully they will make a book adaption and give it justice… But I feel like they really could not do it due to it being a comic and not willing to waste 1-2 pages on a reunion. It was NOT lore current in my opinion… (among other things)

To fully answer your question… It was more or less 1 panel, and Kelly said “john” , Linda said "oh my’ (more or less stone face), and Fred said “will you look at that”

Thire’s a link to the panel.

I think Halo 5 will make up for it, games trump book and comic canon anyway.

That is the absolutely -Yoink- writing I’ve ever seen in my life. Pitiful. No, pathetic.

Well the same guy who did that is the writer for Guardians… So I hope he knows what he doing. Not trying to judge him by 1 comic (that’s absurd) but I won’t lie… I’m kinda worried.

He also wrote Spartan Ops…

Caution advised.
