Check Out This Levelling System

TL; DR – Check out this levelling system that I felt would be great if it was incorporated into Infinite.

Hello all,

Back in 2018 I made a topic about my opinion on a system I felt would be a good levelling system in Halo Infinite, which included adding more sense of achievement. I even created a quick diagram to help explain it.

From the detail in the old topic, you can see the basis was to have 2 avenues of promotion. One XP based and the other including certain tasks/challenges that needed to be completed. I still believe this would be a great system if it was ever to be implemented and wanted to share it again with the now current community and with the current state of Halo infinite, I believe there is room for a levelling system to be added.

Of course, a few of the suggestions I made in the old topic would have to be amended, e.g. firefight challenges, campaign being separate to multiplayer and inclusion of battle pass probably needing to be integrated (perhaps?). (could even work for MCC too?).

Please let me know what you think of this idea and I would appreciate any comments on if you have found any faults or would make certain changes to the system. (hopefully the links work, otherwise they are in the old topic referenced)

Hot damn that is a great idea.

I’ve always found needlessly long exp based stuff pointless. But this is an awesome idea to replicate the Halo 3 model without gatekeeping ranks behind skill walls. It’s unreasonable for a player to need Onyx to get a higher universal progression rank. But to make overarching challenges or objectives to achieve to lock players into lower ranks until they attain them is a cool idea. Like with Halo 3 they could then skip ranks if their exp bar is high enough once they finish these challenges.

I love it, but I also hate you for planting this idea which now I really want. Hope 343 read this and decide to go this route in which case my hate for you will turn to love.

I have felt this way for a while with the last few halo games that have released. i barely care for levelling up as i feel there is no incentive or (as part of my competitive self) bragging rights with the level/rank that I currently hold. Back in halo 3 i used to strive very hard to get to the next rank (also probably one of the main reason i got very good at the game (in my opinion of course…)

Well i hope for both our sakes that it can turn from just an idea into reality!

Yes I felt the same way, I made it to 5* General in Halo 3, but didn’t come close to hitting the top rank on any of the other Halo games as it seemed like a large time grind absence of any skill barriers or challenges I needed to overcome.

I’m really not a fan of progression by time played only.
