Check out my Machinima

I’ve been working on a Machinima for over a year now called After The Drop. An alternate take on the level from the Halo Reach campaign called “Exodus”, After the Drop is the story of a Spartan who jumps out of a Covenant Class Corvette after planting a bomb inside the ship’s reactor. We follow the story of Spartan 097 after falling back onto the planet Reach during the Covenant’s invasion. After awakening from the fall Spartan 097 makes his way to the nearest city being New Alexandria where he must regain communications with the UNSC. What he finds is not good. The Covenant have attacked the city and the UNSC are in desperate need to evacuate civilians and troops from the city.

Covenant isn’t a class of ship, but other than that not a bad idea.

Thank you very much for your feed back! =) SDV-Class Heavy Corvette is the actual name of the class of ship. I put Covenant in front of the ship class since that’s how I like to establish what faction has the ship.

For example if it was a UNSC Frigate like the Forward Unto Dawn I would probably have put UNSC Charon-Class Frigate, or if it was that Jackal controlled Corvette from Hunt the Truth I would probably have put Jackal Pirates SDV-Class Heavy Corvette, etc. Basically it’s there for extra classification.

I appreiate the feedback!

Best Machinima since Arbiter617 =)

Thanks for the kind words but no one will ever come close to Arby. XD

Speaking of Arbiter 617, there actually is a few deleted scenes which we suppose to reference Rise of the Spartans. The original ending for this Machinima had a few extra ending scenes but I decided against adding them in.

Originally there was going to be a scene where a Falcon goes to pick up Spartan 097 at the beachhead and on board the Falcon was going to be the four ODSTs that were at the beachhead in the beginning of Rise of the Spartans Part 1/Director’s Cut Prologue.

  • One of the issues was going to be getting the voice actors of the 4 ODSTs to do lines for it - Another problem was getting a Falcon landing on Beachhead without modding. I was going to use blue screen affects like how I used at 42:42 but determined it would be too difficult. I may eventually attempt to make this scene but it will most likely be with different voice actors or without the ODSTs talking and just walking past the Spartan instead.

Another deleted scene which was added into the intro montage was the death of Spartan 21 who was the White/Cyan Spartan with the CQC Helmet.

  • My goal was to keep the machinima under a hour so I determined to add clips of it into the intro. The last deleted scenes was when the Elite Zealot left the ship by a Covenant escape pod along with the Elite Ultra preparing all the vehicles while the Elite General prepares an elite squad of Elites.
  • In the end I hesitated adding those Covenant scenes because I felt like it ended off better with the Shipmaster.Maybe one day I’ll go through and film all those scenes and make a Director’s Cut. Til then I would like to consider the 3 scenes I mentioned in this post as actually happening.

Thank you very much! Machinimas like this are the reasons why we need levels like Exodus, playable Elites, and Campaign theater back. The last Reach “war genre” Machinima before this was Outcasts by CordlessJet and that was discontinued a few years ago. Hopefully I will continue to make smaller Machinimas in Reach if possible.

Halo 5 is only restricted to Shorts like the one I’m working on now.But You have my support.Machinimas are partly why Halo Reach is awesome

Greetings Friend, Unfortunately due to work I could only watch the first 3 minutes! However I really enjoyed watching this, and I am glad that people still make and want to make machinima’s on Halo Reach! If you need another member then let me know!

I think I saw Cordless asking for more help with something here actually, so maybe he’s back in?

Nice work i like the machinima
