Cheating with Modded AR? (with video proof)

So I ran into someone who was destroying our team with his AR on The Rig. We thought he was cheating because his reputation was “needs work” and then we ran into him again on Torque and it was way more apparent his AR was more powerful than normal. We barely won despite feeling like we were considerably better than them. If you looks at his stats they’re extremely suspect in terms of k/d and the number of AR kills he gets. Here are some clips I caught. Can someone explain this or is there someone at 343i that can do something about it? It looks like he boosts people to champ in the slayer playlist.

I remember hearing something about the ar having no cap for the amount of shots you can pull with the trigger. Probably just using an elite controller (a first party Xbox Controller) and mashing the triggers next to grips

Or just a Smurf.
Or just using that jump forword rapid fire blah blah trick

I just tested it on my elite controller and confirmed that it doesn’t work. Thanks for the hypothesis though.

Probably a smurf account but that doesn’t account for how destructive his AR is. My friends and I were high onyx / champs and we’ve gotten destroyed before but it was because the other team was more skilled. We could tell that his AR was not like ours. I believe the jump forward rapid fire only works when you jump forward and the AR shoots so fast that the reload animation would interrupt the shooting. He didn’t do any of these things in these clips.

Report them on XBL. No sense calling them out. XBL will take care of it.

I thought this was supposed to be fixed.
The old way, you just had to use trigger stops and find the right cadence of tapping shoot (Vetoed showed it on stream), it just wasn’t consistent without a modded controller.
If it’s still possible that way, then I guess the original method was never fixed. But either way, that’s definitely a modded controller.

The multi-shot glitch doesn’t actually require you to jump, that just makes it more consistent that way.
And I think technically it works with any weapon, so it might be possible with AR (with a mod of course) depending on how fast the controller accepts inputs.
But I think you have to be moving forward either way, which the guy in those clips isn’t doing. So I doubt it’s related to the multi-shot regardless.

Lolololol. Reporting them does almost absolutely nothing. XBL will NOT take care of it.

Report and move on

Its best to do this, so you don’t start any witch-hunts

Stop advocating doing nothing. XBL is the only resource available.

I ran into the same guy and had the same problem not too long ago in FFA, just report him.

Actually, he now has the Avoid Me reputation which means he can’t play multiplayer anymore, at least for a few months.

I did, but the reason I wanted to start a thread is so 343i could see it. Not just who was doing it but what was being done in case they can prevent it. I agree I don’t want to start any witch-hunts but I was optimistic it might help prevent future cases regardless of how improbable it might be.

I think it is cheats. He is getting streams of hitmarkers outside of the reticle and getting the kill in about half the time it should take. The Assault Rifle is also experiencing some oddly heavy recoil in the animation from what looks like burst fire similar to a Battle Rifle based on the ammo count.

Macro my dude.

There was another post about a fast killing AR. It seems like this fast killing AR is turning into a problem. https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/6e35355aecdf4fd0acdaee3cc4156fd4/topics/stupid-question--how-long-for-an-ar-kill/48e23a55-e6b7-4d07-bfae-894f5c15c0b1/posts
Yeah report anyone who cheats

While it is frustrating to deal with players who are unsporting or do not play by the rules, we do not want to condone or promote witch hunts on the forums. It is very easy for innocent users to be attacked for something they have not done. Always make sure to report users on Xbox Live for the enforcement team to look into. And yes, they do look into these reports.
