I was in a Flood match earlier tonight and came across a Spartan in his regular armor. That’s only slightly novel, but the tricky thing about it was that the armor was brown, red and black, so from a distance he looked just like a Flood player. So I ignored him a while until I got close and noticed he had a shotgun.
I went into the Theater later and noticed he’d JiP’d the match. I thought maybe that was the cause, but I got thrown into a match that had already started a little later on and when I checked the film for that game, I showed up all bright and yellow like I was supposed to.
Has anyone else encountered this? Tonight is really the first night I’ve played Flood in any significant amount since the game came out, so I don’t exactly have the sample size to know if this is a common oddity or if that dude was some sort of camouflaged ninja cheater with a genius armor concept.
I’m pretty positive that this is just a glitch. I’ve had it happen to me before where I’ll join a game and I will have my armour colours, not the proper flood ones. I’ve also had it where that happens but i spawn with an assault rifle and magnum. I can kill both the survivors and flood, also if I get killed I just respawn the same way. It only gets fixed when a new round starts.
Flood JIP is so broken, expect crazy things like this in 1/10 games at least. I’ve spawned as a human with an AR/Magnum, spawned as a human on the Flood team, spawned as a human on no team, etc.

It is a glitch but there’s a problem since it counts as a betrayal sure enough who ever kills him will get booted. It happened to my friend once when we played Flood. He killed a player that looked normal however he was the enemy on radar and his name too so he killed him cause well it is Flood. But thing is he got booted. He had to wait for me in the lobby till it was over. This glitch has to be fixed 343. This is a common problem on Flood.
