Cheaters

Is there anybody from 343 that still monitors Halo Reach matchmaking and has the ability to ban players for cheating?

I’ve matched against two aimbot users on different occasions today and I think its obsurd. Yes the game is old but that doesn’t mean it should just be left alone and cheater are allow to go unpunished.

I have a saved film of one of the games and would be happy to post it on my file share for evidence/review.

Thanks

If you report them using the built in reporting tools for Xbox Live, the -Yoink!- team will look into that and take necessary action

I have done so a while back for one of the players I’ve matched against yesterday and said player is still playing and cheating freely. What happened to the banhammer? Does nobody enforce the rules anymore?

The Banhammer is an automated system that detects modifications to a map or console and automatically bans players it detects having mods/cheats. If the Banhammer hasn’t been updated in a while to account for ‘new’ cheating methods, then that could explain why the players haven’t been banned.

Which leaves what stckrboy said, manual enforcement through reporting. As this would likely be done by the enforcement team and due to the probable large number of reports, it will likely take a while for them to get to your report.

It is unfortunate yes but Halo: Reach is a 8 year old game at this point.

I was recently in a Slayer game on Asylum and all of the sudden two guys from the other team are driving around in a Warthog – not that it helped them much.

I’ve noticed another player recently (not going to mention his tag since I have no way of confirming that he is causing what I’m about to describe). He goes after close range weapons such as the shotgun or the energy sword and then hides or remains motionless so he doesn’t appear on the radar. Then my connection starts lagging and he runs out of nowhere and slices me or shoots a hole in my face before I even see him. Very odd that it happens so predictably.

Why even play griffball in the first place?? The playlist in and of itself is boring and to boot is filled with nothing but afking booster kids. If you’re going to play MM even with all the searching issues lately at least play a good playlist. If you want to avoid modders like the ones you mentioned that got out of the map i would advise not searching the similarly boring big team battle playlist…that’s another one they tend to flock to.
