So I am very active in the arena, you know it’s were i play most of my games like others play a lot of War zone and so on. I generally enjoy it, sometimes you get a bit annoyed but that goes with every video game.

HOWEVER now there is a completely new annoyance in the field one that almost breaks the game for me if it gets out of hand and if it is not dealt with severely by the developers ! I am talking about CHEATERS/MODDERS. Don’t believe me ? I’ll explain and I have video proof (I also tweeted Bravo about this)

<mark>[REDACTED]</mark> (recorded by me)
In this 90 SECOUND fathom CTF game a player mows down my entire team with a modded AR, the AR kills almost instantly (no not like a quick melee) from long ranges it takes less time to kill than the hardest war zone bosses. I was playing with my entire team, so it is not just my own experience.

Heck even pro player JIMBO has come across cheaters who two shotted him with a carbine :
<mark>[REDACTED]</mark>

343 WE NEED YOU TO COME OUT AND ACKNOWLEDGE THIS ! WE NEED YOU TO STEP UP AND SHOW US THAT YOU CARE ABOUT THE FRANCHISE AND THAT YOU WILL NOT LET CHEATERS GET AWAY WITH IT - Please it is crucial !

The thing they are using isn’t against Microsoft’s rules let alone 343. I doubt it’ll be anytime soon.

MODDED CONTROLLERS. How many threads do we need for this topic until people realize it’s not hacks or mods?

I’m sorry, but the only thing 343 can do is adjust how the AR and Carbine work, but then people would have found a way to work around it. It’s literally unavoidable. Just report and move on.

Btw calling out is against the rules.

Dosen’t matter if it is against the rules (which I strongly believe it is) The matter of fact is it is EXTREMLY game breaking and could severely hurt the game / experience players have with 343 product and thus players could start to leave the franchise, this is bad, both from a business standpoint but also from a Fan’s standpoint

Holy crap there’s no way a normal AR can kill you that quickly, and even from that distance is near impossible.

It’s a controller which isn’t banned by Microsoft so in a way 343’s hands are a bit tied here. This issie is FAR more Microsoft’s then 343 problem.

I hear you man, It might not be “ban-able” from Microsofts standpoint but that should not stop 343 from taking action in some regards. I am not a game developer myself so I don’t know how they would go about dealing with this may it be a “hot fix” that somehow controls the fire rate or something (by code) or a BAN of the user and their Xbox, I don’t know, BUT SOMETHING HAS TO HAPPEN.

This issue is something across Titanfall, Destiny, CoD and a few others. It shouldn’t come down to individual developers to mess around with there game because Microsoft is failing to adjust what is allowed and not.

I agree, i haven’t run into someone like this and i pray to Lucifer that i dont. This is absolutely ridiculous and it’s more than unfair. Maybe 343 could ban modded controllers. I know that sounds wrong, but to promote fairness and equality within Halo 5 i think it’s the best option. I mean you could rack up 50 kills easily with that thing. It needs to be fixed.

Indeed, I don’t know if they can directly ban a modded controller or the likes of it. What i imagined is somesort of limitation on the firerate of weapons or their damage output (as in Jimbo’s link it looked to be damage modified) as such limiting it.

But something defiantly needs to happen, with all that is going on I think 343 really needs to come out and at THE VERY LEAST acknowledge this exists

How can they do that, and promote their own elite controller ? 343i are run by MS, they sell a controller that gives you countless customisation options, they would have to ban the elite controller too.

I don’t know man, but it’s more than unfair to people who don’t have modded controllers. I don’t have a spare $120 or so for a controller i mean thats just ridiculous. As much as i love Halo and gaming in general, im not spending that much money on it

I won’t buy it either, I have thought about it but never did. However, you can’t ban players just because they’re fortunate enough to have one.

Those guys in the clips, I would find it very funny if they went up against a pro team and got utterly destroyed, and then got banned for using the modded controller. Be so funny

It’s about the same cost for an elite isn’t it for a modded controller.

I think controllers for this generation is the worst it’s ever been. All of the controllers in the 30-80 bucks range have terrible life time. Then the elite is so expensive I’m like will it even last. I literally can’t find a controler that isn’t an elite that has no complaints about controllers lasting only a few weeks and I need a new controler because my current one doesn’t let me strafe.

I was thinking my self if it would be against the rules to use a modded controler since it was never meant to be for cheating but add a custom playability to the controls. It really should be for 343 to fix the issue with an update and remove the function that is game breaking in an update to the weapons but it seems like they don’t want to touch the issue cause reports like this get squashed and they have been for months.

The elite controller doesn´t not change fire rates or anything like that. Paddles at the back and being able to adjust some settings is one thing, increasing your firerate so the AR turns into some sort of chaingun is a another thing and changes the balance of the game into plain cheating.

Actually i made a mistake, a normal controller is $90 whereas the elite controller is $199.95
I live in Australia i should mention so im not sure if prices are different in America or the rest of the world. And yes i agree, 343 should get on this issue immediately.

I can’t understand why people wouldn’t bring this up more… literally gamebreaking… no joke the guys kill with an ar faster then you can blink…

I know people keep bringing this up, but come on guys… this is a total issue. Smh

What are we going to say that people who complained about that Warzone armoury glitch needed to just report the offenser and stay quiet from there? 343 would have never thought it would have been an issue. (It took them a freagging month to fix it… so don’t expect this to be fixed anytime soon…)

This just makes me think with the ignorance that this existed and they would lock topics for just suggesting some thing might be going on how do we know for sure there isn’t any mods on Xbox one console when it gets squashed in the same way.

Even bug reports topics get shut down on occasions because of ignorance to the issues or they just don’t want to acknowledge it.

If there was an active exploit in the wild that allowed unsigned code to run on the Xbox One, you can guarantee that that it won’t stay quiet for long. At the time of me posting there is no such exploit in the wild, as such no unsigned code or modded content can be run on an X1. That’s not to say it’s not possible, because it entirely is, but there’s nothing available right now. You just need to find a way to break out of the virtual machine than runs the Games OS partition.

There’s a great write up here of a presentation done by MS, where they explain what exactly goes on underneath the hood. Bit older but for the most part things still run the same (besides using Windows 10 as opposed to Windows 8).
