On the Bungie forums, if you posted someone’s gamertag(with or without proof of cheating) You would get banned, either temp or perm. Whats the status of that here? Cheaters need to be pointed out. It’s kinda funny watching someone sit in AL for a minute and a half, or the slowly falling jet packer is even better. These don’t really hurt people but its cheating none the less. Any thoughts?
I wouldn’t post any GTs if I were you. I would suggest sending a PM to an Admin and see what they say to do. My guess is all you can really do is report and move on.
I would like to think that we don’t call out people in the forums for cheating because more than likely there wasn’t any cheating.
Taking your time with the Jetpack to stay in the air longer isn’t cheating. AL for longer than normal isn’t cheating either, last I heard.

Opinions are like something else. If you know how to use the equipped weapon and jetpack together, you’d be surprised how often you beat out someone when you decide to use the jetpack.

I’m talking about using Continuous thrusters… (go into FF and turn on Unlimited AA’s and you will see what I mean) I know how to stay in the air a really long time with the jet pack.
Its almost like you’re saying people DON’T cheat. Srsly? I’ve been in a lot of games where its obvious. All green bars and one person warps, shoots through walls(posted in my bungie fileshare dunno if it was a hack but Its clearly through the wall). Seems like the only time the ban hammer swings is for the occasional afker or you get banned for quitting/betraying too many times.
How about DDoSers? Can 343 give them console bans?
The problem is most people just suck and assume the other team is “cheating”.
There have been measures in place to quickly ban cheaters since halo3.
Is there any way to tell if someone is using a Lag switch? This would probably be the most common form of cheating.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying that there’s no cheating in Reach, but it’s definitely a rather rare occurrence because its’s far harder to cheat now. Otherwise we’d be back in the times of H2 where standbying was pretty much the norm.
I’d suggest sending a PM direct to one of the admins who can deal with it there, giving as much information / examples for them to review - just giving a GT & no supporting info doesnt give them a great place to start.
Also, where there’s someone using cheap tactics like team killing / early quitting or trash talking I generally give poor feedback, report if necessary & leave it at that - I see loads of people putting GT’s in threads & particularly on Twitter which seems a pointless way of showing that an idiot is getting to you. But then, that might just be me
If you find a cheater just report them through XBL, and this doesn’t mean simply putting them on your avoid list. You actually have to go into your game history, find the player and report him/her using the best category to describe the reason why they’re being reported.
Last weekend my wife and I encountered some guy that was in armor lock for almost 30 seconds, so I reported him. From there it’s up to XBL to determine if he’s actually cheating or not.

Exactly this. I do the same for AFK-ers.
The best thing that people can do if they think that they have caught someone cheating in Halo is upload the entire match replay to their file share and send a message to an employee telling them about the situation and linking them to the video. They will then look into the situation and get back to you on whether the person was cheating or something genuinely went wrong with the game, like a glitch or connection issues. Obviously if cheating was involved, the guilty party will be punished for it.
Posting it on the forums can’t exactly be approved since there are thousands of matches being played each day. If people could post in the forums about cheaters, we’d see nothing but threads about them. Plus throwing wild accusations around isn’t exactly the best thing to do.
