How are you going to stop the problem of cheating and boosting, 343i? No matter what ranking system you implement, there will still be the selling of the accounts, the derankers, and the kid who plays with his terribad buddy. There really is only one way to stop all of this, and that is to just not implement a ranking system at all, which is in no way any fun.
The reason why there was so much cheating in the 1-50 system, and so little in the Arena system, is because the 1-50 system was so much more fun. Nobody cares about Arena. Just sayin
In COD you can report people for boosting 343 will most likely have a system similar.

That kid got General too fast!!! *Reports for Boosting"

And that does what? There are more boosters on COD then any game ever. They couldn’t stop it in Reach and the won’t stop it in Halo 4. Matter of fact the only reason boosting was as prevalent in Reach is because nobody care about the stupid game and it’s crap ranks. They could be easily earned by turning on the game joining match making and leaving.
Problem is that 343i can only ban boosters and similar individuals, they can’t ban cheaters, using aimbot or wallhack, only Ms has that power. And as we know, Ms doesn’t want to ban paying, loyal customers, even if they cheat…at least not without a ton of evidence aka a ton of played and cheated games.
343i could always make the game fun, so boosting didn’t matter, unlimited “prestige” so boosting is pointless, let people rank up somewhat fast so there is no “need” to boost (unlike Reach).
One way they could help prevent boosting is when DLC comes out don’t make achievement map pack specific. For example, the cheevo Don’t Touch That! for 25G must be played on a Defiant map: Prevented the attacking team from touching the flag in a matchmade 1-Flag CTF game.
When they are this specific in matchmaking people will boost to get them. If people bought the DLC then the achievement should unlock for accomplishing the feat in any map.
(I know this thread is about boosting rank or credits but I thought I would chime in anyhow)

They were never a problem in Halo 3 and haven’t been a problem in Reach since November 2010, there won’t be an issue with them in Halo 4.
The problem with modders is how the DLC exist.
They can mod Halo 3, Reach, ODST etc. They just don’t have a program to edit the engines well like they did with CE and halo 2. Forge has also made the urge to mod less so. not much less but still. You don’t see cheating mods because of the cap. They can’t get to a 50 so why ban the account. When bungie did the auto update for halo 2 it scanned the maps for alterations upon signing in. Rather you played matchmaking or not it autobanned.
Notice that in halo 2 modding was not prevelant to matchmaking until the DLC maps came out.
Every game in existence coming with a 2 month free trial also did not help.
