Chat room moderating on Castle stream. SHAME

I was watching the live stream all the way through, and it was done very well, except the thing that made me really mad were the mods on it. I could understand a swear word or saying something like “Halo sucks” or “Halo is dead” blah blah blah, but if you were watching the stream they were simply butchering peoples opinions. This is what people said.

-I Believe the Boltshot has ruined some aspects of CQC combat
-The DMR should be removed as a loadout weapon and BR given to start
-Happy birthday snickerdoodle!
-please stop deleting these comments because people have an opinion

all of those were deleted. I saw some really good ones, so the above ones might seem lame, but I cant remember them nor scroll up to see them because they’re gone. Can’t believe the mods would destroy peoples comments like this when they want Halo to improve. These were just opinions, not attacks. Boy I wonder what it would be like if they monitored waypoint.

If you were there, did this make you mad?

I wasn’t there but this straight up pissed me off. They won’t even acknowledge our complaints. Total Bull$%&#.

So was this an official 343i sponsored event or something held by a fan? Either way, it has nothing to do with Halo 4 and is spam.

They were opinions on the stream about Halo 4, it wasn’t spam. Spam is posting links, advertising, or saying negative things about the game. Comments were dropped off left and right for the dumbest things. Were you even there?

I wasn’t there. But this thread has nothing to do with Halo 4, it’s just -Yoinking!- about a chatroom mods.

Nothing to do with Halo 4? It does, the stream is about the map pack? They were shooting down our opinions on the game, even positive ones. Tell me how this isn’t connected in any way.

You aren’t talking about those opinions, you are talking about the actions of chatroom mods in a livestream. Tell me how those mods decisions are in anyway relevant discussion? This is why I asked if 343i hosted this event and used their own mods, like snicerdoodle or Ka Five or the other montly crew of mods here, or if they were just random chatroom mods unrelated to 343i.

Wait, could you give all of us a link to the stream? Like, add the stream link to your original post?

Yeah Halo should never go back to one weapon starts… I mean am I the only one that like to be able to choose between precision weapons from start? H2, and H3 were so boring with the Br only starts it made the game a one gun game. The weapon variety is far superior in H4 and that is why I love it. Also before I get all the bla bla you started with Reach your opinion doesn’t count, I actually started with CE back in 2001. Also I have every achievement in H3 so I think I played it enough to judge it, and it is my least favorite Halo.

None of your comments are related to the Castle Map Pack.

Not hard to see why your comments were deleted.

Much like this thread. This is the Halo 4 forum - the the complaints about live stream forum.

What I am trying to say is that the opinions were shot down, period. Deleting of all the opinions was deliberate, to make the stream look like it was flawless. The stream was good, no doubt, but it makes 343 look bad since they promised they listen to the community and all the comments look like someone butchered them in a hurry.

The title of this topic was about the stream, I’m not off topic.

These were not my comments.

Regardless. The line has to be drawn somewhere on what is on-topic and what is not.

These comments were cut because it made the stream look bad. If you watched the stream, which you didn’t, there were many off topic comments that weren’t even related to the game at all. They weren’t cut because they were off topic, they were cut for their criticism.

Sorry GG, I had the live game play stream full screen…was more interested in that than people chatting on a channel!

Interesting I would have thought moderation of live stream chats is a good thing. Especially given the current climate of FPS stream chats just being put on “mute” or hidden due to the utter garbage spewed out in them without enough moderation.

The official Castle stream had moderators keeping the stream chat about Castle map pack. Who could have imagined that was going to happen (end sarcasm).

I suggest you lighten up a little and perhaps look at what the stream was for e.g. Castle Map Pack and NOT War Games feedback. If you or other chat posters want to express your opinions or have a public outlet about game mechanics, more specifically War Games mechanics, then you have official forums and threads for all that.

The stream/chat stayed on point and I say good job to those mods, I would have done the same.
