Chasm isn't a serious map, don't treat it as one

Hearing this map sucks, is fine. If people relate this map to be a reminiscence of Boarding Action, its definitely not made to be taken seriously. The way its designed, is just meant for fun with its weird geometry pathing. Also, it has a lot of easter egg callout placement: two when you fall, and another few floating up. Most likely 343i made this map for fun than most other reasons

Though in the end, this should not be in the rotational playlist for serious modes, but arcade modes and regular slayer.

It’s definitely a social map and not a competative one. But i do think the lower hallways can use a bit more cover to make it a little bit more playable. Not only can on multiple places people drop down from the higher hallway and you can be shot from the other hallways (low and high), but there is also a completely open sight across the hallway. I think that is a bit much.

They didnt add any maps to Ranked Arena this time, it was kind of dissapointing to hear that.

Yea but this season ranked is getting a remake of Plaza from H5. That’s one of the better ranked maps in the entirety of the franchise imo.

Hopefully they don’t massacre the skill jumps when it comes out lol

Nothing in this game feels really “made for fun”. The map definitely still feels like it’s meant to be a competitive map. I actually enjoy it enough, myself. Though I think it feels like you’re on a hike trying to get around. The boarding action appeal is great to me, but it’s in desperate need of teleporters. At least in regard to slayer gametype.

I’ve now got to play on it a few times.

It is indeed a fun map.

It’s nice to have an open map with a few sight lines. It would definitely be broken by BR starts.

Could be a good trial for Bandit starts?

Will be a lot of fun for Snipers.

The bottom level of each corridor being completely empty seems odd to me… I think there needs to be more bits of cover than the wall edges and door entrances.

But then again maybe it would get too hard to finish kills that way. This map has a lot of vertical traversal available if you utilize all the wreckage floating right against the corridors, and you can weave up and down to run from enemies. Especially once you include 2 grapples and a repulser

Edit: I guess the top corridors kinda have complete openness too, but the occasional floor gap gives a slightly different feel than the bottom level

Iv’e had fun with it, but then I play for fun, the empty lower corridors could of been thought of differently, most of the game iv’e played on it people utilise the pillars, end of the day not everyone will be happy with anything.

Even launch site I kinda like now apart from vehicles can be too tricky on it.

It’s a quick joke map made in 2 weeks to pad out the list. Minimal effort

Fun map - produces a good use of shroud screen.

Uny confirmed it should be dropping during S3. My guess is the mid-season mark, as that would be in line with a lot of other live service games.

Obviously until an initial date is given there’s a chance it could slip. But I think we’ve got a good chance of seeing it soon

Bandit starts would be good on it. Having tried the Bandit on it, you can’t really get good hits from the other side of the hall. I think it would work nicely, but still isn’t good for Ranked.

May not be serious but it’s fun to play at least. All the new maps are actually pretty good IMO

Strong Holds has some very exposed zones.

But it’s actually very fun and tactical.

You can’t take them by yourself. You need a group to speed it up… or a staggered approach as the person in there expires.

Suppressing sniper fire is a must.

Love that we have something that plays a bit differently.

Kinda of funny because I think in King of the Hill, the second one is where the camo spawns… in that 1-by-1 pillar…

Literally one player has to volunteer to hold it and likely die
