Source is reliable, same guy that gathered the times for previous games.
i knew something was wrong right away, you die too damn fast, its doesnt seem like a big difference but it is. time needs to be on par with 3
I do feel as if it could use a slight increase.

Agreed
Yup. And it’s out of balance with non head shot kills.

Yeah, no time to try and pull off big plays. It never pays to take a risk. People are getting cautious. H5 might get worse over time.
Anybody think we should just have double the amount of health? Or would that be too much or too little?
Just so people know, if you are against the fast kill times and for sprint. The kill times are only this fast to try and further balance sprint (which still hasn’t worked imo). If sprint wasn’t in the game we wouldn’t need kill times to be this fast. Raising the kill times are only going to make sprint even more broken than it already is, and lowering them takes away from the Halo feel and makes the game even more like CoD. It’s a lose lose.

you know i think you just figured out something i couldn’t even figure out. I knew i was dying too fast, but my problem was while i was good at the game, onyx rank almost semi pro, is that i was getting bored and going back to play halo 3. It really is the way people are playing the game, because i did think the game was great the first day i played at low level but still needed changes. ITs not that fun, 1v1 encounters are gone, as soon as you shoot anyone on the other team you might as well put a giant target on your head because your going to get triple teamed every single time. I also noticed a lack of my favorite part of halo, the dance of death, where you and your enemy are strafing and jumping everywhere to kill eachother. it just doesnt happen anymore because you can 4 shot insanely fast before they can put 2 shots on you

Yup. Sprint is the source of all bad things in this game.

You can’t do that with sprint in the game or you’d never kill people. Even adding .3 to kill times will add, 3-5 minutes to each game.
In 2013, I made an infography about the TTK post TU for Halo 4. Here is the link so you can compare if you want to :

Increase base player speed. Decrease sprint speed. Remove thruster. Increase kill times. ~ That’s the Halo 5 I’ll bother with.
Ok so all guns need a rof reduction of ~20 frames. In simple terms the time it takes to pull the trigger once.
Doing this would get it to match the h3 br as well as providing more time to react while mantaining tge weapon balance
Considering that these were all probably timed with head shots from up close, it makes sense and looks balanced. The AR and and SMG are supposed to destroy people up close. Good luck making those headshots when the opponent is at a longer range with the AR like you can a BR.

Wow your right, that was always one of the most heated situations to be in. Two normally good players missing multiple shots in a battle that lasts 2-3x longer than a normal battle. I think this has happened to me once so far and it was in a 4v1 game.
This has been a problem for me too. I’m very much a “run to safety and set up the ambush” kind of player, and it’s worked pretty well for me in prior titles. I’m not as nimble in H5 as I have been in the past, and it’s really affecting my enjoyment of the game. It’s too bad that’s not the only thing keeping me from enjoying it…
Doju is the man.
I’m appalled to see people clamoring for SLOWER kill times! What is wrong with you people? Is it because so many of you poor Halo titles (H3 and onward) that you want slow kill times? The slow kill times (not to mention inaccurate as hell BR) is one of the things that made H3 one of the weaker titles in the franchise!
To set the record straight, quick kill times is not COD, so long as it is quick optimal kill times with a difficult to use weapon. Low aim assist and quick kill times is a good thing, as it empowers the individual to be able to challenge more effectively. Take Halo CE for instance, which featured an optimal kill time of around 0.68 seconds, where a single player could challenge 2 enemies and still win because of the low aim assist of the Magnum in combination with the quick kill time.
The difference between optimal kill time and average kill time is where the aim skill gap is located, and is something that we should value! The smaller that gap becomes, the more monotonous and unrewarding gunplay feels.
