I have a probably strange idea but I thouht I share with you.
So after we known that Locke will be a black man (I have no problem with it before anyone thinks that) I remembered for Sgt. Johnson and then Miranda Keys.
Will be :- Sarah Palmer the new Miradna Keys
Anyway before we knew that who is the new guy in Halo 5 Guardians I could imagine Edward Buck from H3 ODST because someone say about him that if he was any better he’d be a Spartan.
I wouldn’t say they’re the new anything, they both seem like new and independent characters.
Nobody can replace Johnson!
Instead of trying to replace deceased characters, let’s develop new characters and not restrict them to the shadows of old.

OT: they seem like new characters to me, Palmer especially. Escalation has salvaged her from the terrible dialogue she was given in Spartan Ops and redeemed her lack of campaign screentime; right now she’s better-developed than Miranda ever was. It’d be a shame to turn her into a dead character’s shadow.

I’d say h4 palmer was trying to be the new johnson. She was trying to be the other soldier character with attitude. She seems to have become her own person in Escalation though.
Lasky is the new Keyes…and Keyes. He’s the ship guy
I’d say Locke is closer to the new Arby, and even then only because he’s the other campaign character. They both have a stealth bent to them though.
