There are a lot of characters in the Halo series that I wish we could’ve seen more of, or who could’ve been fleshed out better, what character did you really like but didn’t see much of?
I wish that 343 Guilty Spark played a bigger role in the H2 campaign more than just being The Heretic’s little companion (I know “spark” did more than that in the campaign, but I didn’t get to see him as much as I’d like to).
If we’re talking all of the lore, then I want to see more on Ignatio Delgado from The Cole Protocol. The end of the book sees him enlist in the UNSC Navy and I want to see how the rest of his life plays out. I’d imagine his adjustment to the rigid life of a UNSC sailor would be tough, but I think he would more than rise to the occasion.
I think all of Blue Team in H5. It was so awesome to see Chief’s brother and sisters fighting alongside him for the first time, but we barely got to spend any time with them in the game. For those who don’t interact with any external material like the books, they only know Fred, Kelly, and Linda as “the other S-II’s.” I know Infinite is going to be all about Chief, but I’d love to see a game (perhaps a spin-off) which gives the other three more screen time. What we got in H5 seemed like a trailer rather than a movie.
I’d love more Rtas 'Vadum. And more N’tho 'Sraom and Usze 'Tagham
Chol Von has been sadly forgotten. A Kig-Yar shipmistress who wanted to unite her kind into a new empire.

For people not in the know, N’tho ‘Sraom and Usze ‘Tagham (not sure if the spelling is on point there) are the 3rd and 4th playable characters in Halo 3s campaign if you have a full 4 player session.
They make an appearance in a book or two as does Rtas ‘Vadum in a different book I think but they’ve been in the sidelines since 2007.

Indeed so.
Rtas 'Vadum’s appearance is in the excellent novella Shadow of Intent (which I think may be important reading before Divine Wind releases).
N’tho and Usze appear promimently in Hunters in the Dark which may also have relevance but I think has mostly been overtaken by other events now (Halo Wars 2, Renegades, Point of Light)

Kinda hope Rtas makes a return to the main series tbh. I know a few folk would be glad to see ol’ half-jaw

I’m no oldie, but I’d definitely want to see Rtas again. His voice acting and role in the franchise always appealed to me
Non lore wise, I think a character that didn’t get recognized was The Rookie.

Yeah, the rookie was a cool character, he seemed so calm and chill all the time

I think that arc may be coming to the fore again based on the mystery figure on the cover of Divine Wind
I guarantee you that somewhere along the line 343 released the events of what happened to that shipmaster from halo evolutions but i still have no idea to this day what happened to him.

All we known since The Return to my knowledge is that the Return is set at least during or later than the ‘current’ timeline: i.e. 2559 or later
This might be controversial , but I genuinely believe Johnson and Miranda getting killed off in Halo 3 was a big mistake and it deprived Halo of so many cool stories that could have featured these characters. Miranda living up to her father’s legacy in the post-Halo 3 period could have been shown. Given that Johnson was the guy that helped build the alliance between Humanity and the Elites during Halo 2 by helping Arbiter kill Tarturus, I would have loved to have seen Johnson helping the Arbiter in Halo 5 with a marine detachment. Granted the game probably wouldn’t have done the character justice, but its the thought that counts. I just feel like killing these characters off was such a massive waste of their potential and all of it was done just for the sake of making Halo 3 have some hamfisted drama.
Most of these stories focus on the big players in the Halo franchise. Im more interested in the tales focused on the decisions and sacrifices made by the Marines fighting alongside the main characters. Spartans may be able to take quite a few shots, but the boots on the ground took more.

I think Bungie was trying to have a sad conclusion to their amazing story arc, and killing off the most beloved character was that sad conclusion they needed. Johnson was one of my most favorite characters so seeing him die was a bit sad but I don’t think games as bad as H5 deserve Johnson

We need an MCC season about the marines
