While I loved the idea of using my own Spartan for Firefight in Halo: Reach, I have to admit there was a certain joy out of using character skins for it in ODST. I wouldn’t mind something else similar as an option for Halo 4. There are plenty of characters from the Halo lore to work with, this time around maybe even Elites can fight side-by-side with humans against Halo 4’s new enemy. And why not, throw the Roosterteeth folks a bone and throw in their RvB characters. That idea is kinda silly, but plenty of people would use a Caboose FF voice if they could.
Picture this.
There is a mysterious alien landscape, hideous abominations are coming for four characters on a hill. Captain Keyes, Lord Hood, Caboose and the Arbiter are firing at all angles. That’d make my match right there.
In terms of making them work for gameplay, I don’t see why giving them shields without armor would be out of the questions. Might seem odd at first, but if it’s too much, do what they did with Johnson and give them ODST like armor or whatever 343 wishes. This won’t revolutionize FF, but it could be a fun distraction. Once you get into lobbies of FF matches with all steel colored Spartans, a little variety wouldn’t hurt. And if you want your Spartan, keep it. That’s the best thing about option, they’re optional.
Just a thought.
