Character Models Move at 30fps?

I don’t know if I’m losing my mind or not, but the latest Warzone gameplay videos look a little weird to me. Do the character models move at 30fps? I doubt this is because of lag because I even see in some campaign demos. Just wanted to see what you guys think about this, but otherwise the hype is unreal.

I just looked again and they do look weird? It is still not the final build but that’s quite interesting

if that’s true then ima lose my -Yoink-…pull it together 343…fingers crossed for launch night.

It’s either the (capture) source or the (media) player, not the animations.

I’m just glad I’m not the only one who saw it. I’m sure it won’t be an issue in the final game. On a side note, the promethean br looks gorgeous

It’s probably the video capture. We’ve already seen raw captured gameplay and we know what it’s going to look like.

I also saw him. But no one believes me

Were you watching on YouTube? All YouTube videos are 30 FPS.

It could be that the video was converted improperly when uploaded. I have that issue with YouTube sometimes.

Try see if evrything else in the footage looks 60fps. Youtube videos might be played on the 60fps settings, but their framerate might be a lot lower if not uploaded right. (RUL had to reupload a 60fps video multiple times because it looked like it ran at 30)

Do you have a link to the video I’m away from my PC or can you give me a video name so I can search it…
The new videos on YouTube that I saw seem normal

Why do you keep trying to make this a thing? You’ve seen the other videos, you’ve played the BETA — you know that the animations are smooth.

Take note: This is not a made up issue, and it is not a troll, as many brushed it off to be, including me.

Oh okay now I get what you guys are talking about. If you’ve played Dark Souls 2 before, then you’re familiar with this sort of thing. Certain enemies when seen at a distance in Ds2 seem to be “missing” frames in their animation. After a certain distance is closed between you and the enemy you see the full animation. From what I’ve seen of Warzone this occurrence is not consistent and could be something that occurs depending on the stress of situation. Hopefully it does not occur too much in the final build, or at all. Apex 7, based on the gameplay, still seemed like it wasn’t 100% done with. Especially when you see things like the Pelican intro screwing up sometimes.

I suddenly feel bad for brushing this off yesterday as nonsense when I’ve seen it before in other games. Halo 5 will not be the first game that has ever had this occur, if it does exist in the final build. I should hope not though. If it does, then I’m sure this will only be an issue on a huge map like Apex 7, as we saw little to no sign of this on Escape from ARC, even though that is a large Warzone map as well. Apex 7 seems especially stressful for the system, as you can clearly see textures quality adjusting as you approach them or change the respawn screen. Obviously that’s something more obvious when watching a gameplay then when a person is playing.

It is most obvious when watching a spartan sprint or when a marine, or any A.I., throws a grenade. Like someone has said earlier, this happens in many different games, even the new Super Smash Bros. I wasn’t trying to troll anyone or make anything up, I just keep seeing it in EVERY gameplay video of Apex 7. Sometimes it looks even worse than 30fps and that scares me. This is a matter of immersion and a huge one at that.

This could be a form of dynamic frame rate (which I’m kind of making up) much like the dynamic resolution that is being used in Halo 5.

Lol what? Where have you been for the past year?

Everything should be at 60fps. If they didn’t lie, of course. Could just be whatever was used to capture it.

Well, I mean, the game does run at 60fps… But the animation thing he mentioned is not a result of the capture device, as I’ve first hand experienced it in other games. I don’t really even know what to call it tbh. Hopefully it was just a product of the map not being 100% finished and optimized for the final release, as we didn’t see this on the other Warzone map. After all, when it comes to these demo builds, they have to prioritize stability.

I’m not seeing it, OP. I just watched a bunch of RUL’s Apex 7 vids @60fps and couldn’t see what you meant. I’m not saying you’re lying, I just didn’t see it. I watched them sprint around and it all looked fine to me. Nothing stuck out as odd.

I wish you could see it through my eyes. The animations look choppy at times. Compared to the arena gameplay videos, there is a huge difference which is why I believe the frame rate for character animations can fluctuate.

I’m seeing it the most when people are sprinting. It’s look choppy, like the animation is skipping
