The SPARTAN-IVs don’t look SPARTAN-y. Don’t -Yoink- and whine, because this is fact. GEN2 looks like something out of a cheap knockoff or a Nintendo-produced sci-fi shooter.
These are Spartans. Men and women in sturdy, boss-looking power armor.
I accept that there are people that disagree with me. Some like the bright, dare I say “hopeful” aesthetics of MJOLNIR GEN2. But I’m not talking about appeasing them right now. Right now, I’m talking about those of us who miss their GEN1 armor. And I have a way to satisfy us: character imports. If an account has played Halo 2, Halo 3, or Halo: Reach, then the player should have an option to take their S-II or S-III from those games and use them in Halo 5’s multiplayer.
What does this accomplish? Number one, it saves you the trouble of grinding for armor. Number two, it allows Halo vets to honor Halo as it used to be. Number three, plain and simple, some people would probably just like their old multiplayer models better.
I suggest this for a reason. 343i likes to say they listen to their community. Well, it’s 2014, a year away from the next big Halo; it’s time to actually listen. And, frankly, it’s time to honor the remnants of the Seventh Column, who haven’t moved on to other games, but instead remained in hopes of seeing Halo returned to its former glory. So, please, do something for your Grizzled Ancients. Don’t turn your back on us for your newer, younger fanbase, like Bungie has. It doesn’t neccesarily mean this, but we don’t want to be forgotten.
I don’t really think all that is necessary or needed. For one, it takes a lot of time to model these things, so you’re asking for them to spend less time on making the multiplayer refined and good, and more time on eyecandy that has zero effect on the game itself. Really, it’s just aesthetics - it doesn’t have any impact on how the game is played or how the multiplayer turns out or how the campaign goes.
Sure, I wouldn’t mind a Mark V or Mark VI armor that can be unlocked or whatever like Halo 4 had, but I don’t think that it’d be easy to track if a person has played Halo 2 and then unlock it for them if they had.
Halo 4 Spartans are the best looking Spartans Halo has had since Halo Wars. Excluding some of the more exotic and strange looking armors. The Mark VI looks absolutely amazing for instance and the Master Chief’s new armor makes him look like a walking tank. I didn’t really like the Reach armor but that may have been because the color palette in the game seemed so dull compared to the other games.

Yeah, it’s all just opinion anyway. I didn’t mind Reach’s style, I didn’t mind 4’s style. This whole thing about “You claim to listen to us, so you have to do what we say” is just silly. I fully understand where people are coming from in the multiplayer and how it went down, but this? I don’t know. I just don’t think that it’d be worthwhile to spend resources on reverting every aesthetic change they made just because some people don’t like it and can’t tolerate H4’s new designs.
Would it be cool to see the old armors? Yes it would. But I don’t think they should just throw aside everything they’ve did so far because some people disagree with the new looks. Giving us a few armors styled off the old would be fine though.
I don’t know about the “Importing characters” bit however. If it’d even be possible. Besides, they’d have to re-model all those anyway. Just copying and pasting the files from H2/3 into Halo 4 would look terribly out of place. And that modeling takes a lot of time and money. Time that could be better spent balancing the Multiplayer and making sure it’s not like Halo 4’s.
Halo: Reach’s color palette was dull, but that was because the armor was worn, scarred. In halo 4 it kind of looks as if it is a fresh shiny coat of paint. It isn’t bad, but I think it could use some more battle worn looking of a color.
As for the original idea… It may seem nice, I like it personally. A day to walk around as my old spartan would be amazing, especially on next gen! But I think 343 knows what to do here. I think they will do much better on Halo 5, given it comes out in another year. And anyways, E3 is very soon. That is when we’ll see what is in store for us. I want a well worked on game, I think armor will be just fine, and I think character models will be fine.
Still, reach armor I’d take anyday.
I realy wish halo 5 would com out on xbox 360, are they making an anniversary? I also do like the new halo 5 armour, but i wish there were more option choices.

Please don’t revive really old topics, thanks.
To answer your question though, there won’t be any further game releases for the Xbox 360. Halo 4 was the last release, all future releases will be for Xbox One or future hardware like the Scorpio. The 360 simply isn’t powerful enough to handle the features of Halo 5
