Character Developement in Campaign

I think 343i should have put more character development work in the game. When you watch a TV series and someone dies and you feel sad, it’s because throughout the show, your perception of the character developed with backstory and watching them behave according to their personality. When cortana died in Halo 4, I felt great grief for the chief (I’m a poet hehe). He spent the entire game just trying to get to halsey and fix her just for her to die from the Didact. I feel like if anyone (except chief) had died in halo 5, it just wouldn’t have the same effect. I don’t feel the emotions of characters. They’re just moving people with names to me.

I understand that a lot of this is in the books, but in previous halo titles AND ENTIRELY OTHER GAMES, you didn’t need a book to feel the character’s pain when something bad happened. It was all right in front of your eyes.

I think for halo 6, we should really be introduced to these characters. Now yes, It went from cortana & chief to cortana, chief, and 7 other spartans, but gimme a little more to hold onto.

Other than that, great campaign, great cliff hanger, and a great set-up for halo 6.

I’m excited for these future updates and eventually Halo 6
