I’ve read many topics about people not being able to watch Nightfall. Both digital and physical releases of MCC seem to be affected.
After literally hours of reading I saw -1- post where a 343i person mentioned a possibility of the problem being that the registration was done with one Live account and the person was trying to view the series with another. That wasn’t the case in the post I was reading… but I am pretty sure it is the case for me.
Further, nothing involving the Halo Channel seems to work for me. Even trying to watch the cutscenes from the hidden terminals. Which… why on Earth are they tied to the Halo Channel?!?
Anyway, I’ve had issues with my Xbox Live account for some time. Issues that aren’t relevant to this discussion and are just minor annoyances. Well, today when I bought my Xbox One MCC bundle I initially logged in with that account. After one of those minor annoyances popped up I decided to just create a new account.
Now, when trying to view Nightfall I see that it is “installed”. So I guess I have to watch it through the Halo Channel. Only when I go there it tells me to buy Nightfall. When I click that it just takes me back to the window showing it is installed.
Likewise, when I try to approach the first terminal on The Pillar of Autumn, the game opens the Halo Channel and gives me the “That’s Not Right” error.
Same with the second terminal.
If I try to open the Halo Channel outright from the main menu on the XB1 it just hangs at the first screen and never allows any interaction, no menu appears.
I am fairly sure all of this is related to me having created a new account and deleted the old one from my Xbox.
I have the credentials for both accounts and would appreciate any help in resolving this.
I understand the free ODST offer expired in Dec of 2014, but seeing how many folks have had issues with Nightfall and the Halo Channel it seems many of the issues which prompted the offer have not been resolved. I know most people were concerned with gameplay only, but I didn’t just buy the game. I also bought Nightfall, and the cutscenes which are not working are in fact part of the game.
I think 343i should reevaluate the deadline for the ODST offer.
Either way, please help me to fix the issues I am facing.
