changing weather in forge

I think that we should be able to change the weather in forge in halo 4 such as snow , rain , night etc because bungie said that the only reason that changing weather was not in halo reach is because by the time they thought of that idea the game was nearly finished and it was too late so I don’t see a reason why changing weather shouldn’t be in halo 4 since 343 industries still have plenty of time before the game comes out.

Changing weather may or may not be hard, I haven’t really seen any one try playing with the weather in Halo Custom Edition or Halo 2 Vista, but the Halo engine has come a long way since then, so 343i may be able to make it so you can tell the map rather or not it’s pouring rain, snowing, or sunny, but some weather like wind, may be a little harder than just snow and rain. But I do know it isn’t that hard to change the lighting of the map, so it’s sun rise, high noon, sun set, or night time, that I have seen done.

Would be cool.

I would be interested in how they would implement it. Snow building up on the ground could cause tremendous frame rate drop.I would think Bungie would have added it in reach but with their graphical engine I bet it would have been a technical nightmare.

I’d like that. A night/day option would be nice too. Bungie originally intended to include that in forge, but couldn’t, due to time constraints.

In a five facts on RoosterTeeth on halo CE, Bungie originally intended on having a changing weather system. I think it would be cool to implement this as like FX orbs. The snow building up would instead be a layer of snow generated using the same algorithm from generating light. And water spots on the ground could be generated early on, too.

The FX wouldn’t be entirely interactable (maybe footprints in the snow) but at least it would be there.
