on bungie.net is there a way to change my elite model back to spartan?

It’s not updating anymore, so probably not. You could just play as a spartan and then maybe it’ll change like it used to but I wouldn’t count on it.

They had no choice, Bungie no longer own Halo, 343 Industries do, they couldn’t upload Halo 3 stats even if they wanted to.

The only thing there is that it would detract from development time they have to make Halo 4. Granted, they could have prepared for this a little better in my opinion. Support for current and future products is always going to supersede support for older products.
