Changes to see before launch

Big Halo fan. Played them all. Things I believe need to change is weapon damage on new weapons. What’s the point of picking up Bulldog, Heatwave, or Disrupter, etc, if I’m going to get beat by the broken pistol or the AR from across the map? The hit shots box on the game is horrible. Four shots with a BR? Try five or six that’s if it even targets other players in the first place. Agreeing with others on level progression. Has anyone else felt with these issues or feel this way? Besides that, I’m loving it.

I know it’s a case-by-case thing but I haven’t really had an issue with the Heatwave, I’ve killed plenty of people with it at a reasonable range.

What is the trick to get kills with it? I keep getting outgunned.

I find success with the weapon by having the fire mode in the horizontal configuration (LT on controller and probably right click on PC).

I’ve been a Halo fan for most of my life and I thought Halo 5 was great. The movement and gameplay were fantastic. I have some thoughts on Infinite.

  • There could be greater usable weapon variety, especially with respect to close combat. The Bulldog typically requires too many shots. The Combat Rifle is cool but will lose to the BR usually.
  • Invis is overpowered.
  • It’s not a dealbreaker, but I’m not a fan of no radar in ranked. It’s a skill to stay off radar. I also don’t think the radar is very good in this game. Enemies do not appear until it’s too late.
*I like that the settings are highly customizable but I haven’t been able to find a sweet spot yet. My character feels like a tank with respect to movement. I was really disappointed that burst was turned into a perk that was picked-up rather than standard.
  • This has probably been mentioned a bunch, but the battle pass progression is overly difficult.
  • It’s probably already in the works, but I feel slayer doesn’t appear often enough in ranked. Hoping for Snipers, Shotgun/Snipers, Swat playlists among others.
*The maps could use more unique looks and features. Most feel like they are in a factory/warehouse setting. Bazaar has a lot of wasted space in the back of where the two teams spawn. Typically, there is not much activity there.
  • The game seems very quiet for some reason. Not sure if ambient noise or something is missing.

Overall, I like the game but hopefully with more play time I can grow into it.
