Hello All,
I have and probably always be a huge halo fan. I love halo 5, and I feel like they added some new features to the game such as sprint and spartan charge, with jumping and clambering added on as well. These are good features that altered that gameplay slightly, without completely changing the game. With that being said, I like the game and my only intention for this post is for 343 to improve the game and move forwards, so here we go:
Gametypes:
- I think having the weekly poll for a new playlist is a cool feature - Keep it up - adds something fresh each week! - Why is Team Doubles (Currently Holiday Doubles) not a permanent playlist? As far as I’m aware this has always been an extremely popular playlist, and for myself in particular, this is my favorite game mode. - On a side note with the Team Doubles playlist, map modifications should be made. I actually believe they should be made altogether but I will get into that later. For Team Doubles in specific. - Lets look at a map like Eden. Rockets and Sniper are on the map. If you spawn blue side, you can blow the barrels and grab sniper uncontested. You can then jump to catwalk and contest rockets with a slick shot - and when you are playing good people - this is common - I do it myself all the time. This gives the blue spawn a huge advantage right from the get-go. Also when you have 4 rockets every 2 minutes(spawn time on rockets) you have huge momentum just by grabbing the first rocket set. I am of course always talking about equally skilled people, and I am aware not every rocket shot will hit, but you can easily span your rockets out over 2 minutes and use them to contest the new spawn. This map is highly unbalance with the weapon placement, they need to be more centralized. Sniper should go in shotty base rather than more easily accessible to the blue spawn. - Lets look at a balanced map real quick for a positive - Regret. I know alot of people don’t like this map in particular but we are talking about balance, not the likability of the map. Fuel rod spawns in a central location, OS spawns in a central location, and there is a plasma pistol to contest the overshield. This map is almost completely symmetrical (not every map needs to be symmetrical) so its easily balanced. - Lets look at 343’s newest map (which seems to pop up at an abnormally high rate I must add) Overgrowth. This map is highly unfavored by most people. I like the scenery and think it has ok playability, until you look at the balance of the map. There are 3 power weapons, spread oddly through the map, and an invisibility. In Team Doubles this means someone will ALWAYS have a power weapon, and with the way the rooms are setup in such close range, the map is easily won by camping. Yes, there are tons of grenade spots, but trying to push into a shotgun/railgun can prove fairly difficult. This allows them to watch the timer on invisibility and get it most likely, every time. This leads me to my next point.Overall I just think they need to glace over each map - with weapon spawns - and understand the relative balance between where they put the weapons - how much ammo will be in them - and how many power weapons are on the map. Few people want to play a map with 1 Power weapon - but noone wants to play a map with 4 power weapons/powerups.
I know there is plenty more that needs changed - This is simply a template for the beginning of what I believe we need - Please feel free to share your feedback and criticism alike. I will go back and edit this post if I feel like you guys brought up a good point and something could be added.
