What changes would you like to see implemented in forge?
I personally would like 2 large maps, if thats a possibility…the ability to toggle between different lighting (i.e. night and day), possibly even add atmospheric conditions…also i would love if we had more than one set of colors and shapes. it needs to be more complex, because we’ve already gotten past enjoying what we have on reach. too many bland colors imho. grey/silver does get old after a while.
I just want some engine and palette improvements.
1. Larger global object max.
2. More movables.
3. Less graphics lag.
4. Less graphics breakage (a la discoing).
If we can build more stuff with less bugs, I’ll be a happy man.

fair enough. what would you say about lighting/environment changes? i think part of the problem with reach was that you really only had one HUUUUGE map and the scenery never changed. you could make 15 maps within it, and it would all kind of feel the same in a sense.

Understandable, but the concern there is that there’ll always be a limit to how many different kinds of objects we have in the Forge palette. If the map has too much variation, the palette might not be able to match it, which means that you’ll have big areas of the map where all of the Forge pieces look completely out of place.
Aesthetic variation would be absolutely lovely, but the best way to accomplish it would be to provide several vastly-different maps, rather than trying to pack everything into one map. Varying everything but the aesthetics doesn’t make the pieces (visually) worse than they are, though, as Forge World has shown us.
what about multiple large-scale forge maps instead of just one?

That, combined with a more stable engine, would be an absolute dream come true. It’d offer terrain variety within each canvas, and aesthetic variety between canvases.
FULL customization. By that I mean:
Changeable skybox.
Change terrain, like if you want a hill, make it, if you want it flat, make it.
Tons and tons of different pieces you can use, w/o any limit.
Well, you get the point.
-
I want UNSC walls and rooms and doors and the works.
Flood infected unsc walls and others would be awesome to.
and some walls from every other race
-
Effects that let you change the lighting in only a certain area that would look or
work kinda like the kill boundaries and would add weather effects like fog, rain,
blizzard, and such.
-
Forge dead bodies like dead marines or other creatures like grunts, elites, and others
along with the ability to add blood stains to walls to add that "somethings in here
and killed these guys.
-
Make doors, elevators, even damn windows with buttons to open or close them, or (in
the case of elevators) Go in an up and down or side to side animation.
-
all vehicles( not big ones that may lag the map like scarabs and frigates) but ones
like Pelicans, phantoms, odst droppods, troop hogs and hopefully vehicles like the
reach campaign falcons with troop passenger seats and guns.
and as an option not as forge but as both forge and custom games is a flashlight.
it would be perfect for zombie maps and would go perfectly with the darken map area effect.
A very simple thing … no z fighting- for those unfamiliar with the term it’s when two textures overlap in the same plane and the game flickers between them. A “simple” fix (who knows how simple really) is to time stamp each piece relative to each other and give one priority, say the most recently placed piece shows.
I have over 300 forge world maps. I would like for the ability to organize my maps via folders like in Windows explorer. example: folders like “race maps” “infection maps” “slayer maps” “clan hq maps” etc.
Being able to organize our custom maps into folder would be a great addition.
Many maps that are small to large (not huge like FW) with many different themes.
