Changes i would make to the game in general

Mantis should have been the first promethean vehicle. The Didact would have been such a better fight if he was in one of these things.
Chopper needs to come back, only skin it as a promethean lightcycle.
Mongoose needs some mounted smgs.
Promethean melee weapon should have been included. I propose that it has great horizontal range and not a lot of lunge. A scythe would have been a good fit. Hammer/sword/scythe sounds like a good trio.

War Sphinx > Mantis

I would say it’s time for all new vehicles and really design them for team work. Also add AAs just because it would be fun to watch everyone tear their pantyhose.

See, a war sphinx is already in the halo canon. Why, 343, why?

(it’s cause they’re obsessed with the unsc)

> War Sphinx > Mantis

QTF. A war sphinx battle would level cities though… way over powered for matchmaking.

The need for Forerunner vehicles is nil, though. Why would Robots need vehicles? They can teleport wherever they need to go. If we had more real forerunners then yeah, i’d love to see a Promethean vehicle. Plus, in the Bear novels we never really hear any mention of Forerunners traveling in land vehicles aside from Ferries and Rail systems. I might be mistaken on that last point…

p.s. chopper was the very best.
p.p.s. the scythe is a genius idea!

Spartan Ops should have been an ODST-like adventure where you play as Palmer and Roland is your AI. Easy fix.

You’ve seen the Prometheans. You know how they get around. Why would a Promethean need a vehicle?

If you have been following the SPARTAN Ops series, here’s what you should expect:

Infinity and the Didact’s Hand are going to be racing about the universe claiming Forerunner technology. If any Forerunner vehicles exist, that’s probably where they’re going to show up first.

ok promethean, same thing

I’m pretty sure the didact was a one-button boss because 343 couldn’t figure out a way to make him an interesting enemy to fight. Put him in a mantis. easy breezy good job 343 i’m connecting all these dots for you

Because it’s … not always about transportation? Like, I don’t get in a tank to drive to work. It’s about power and protection just as much as it’s about getting from a to b

seriously though yall are getting way too caught up in the canon. 343 literally made up the mantis for the game–what I’m wondering is why they made it just for you to use instead of making it for you to fight against

Fair point, but Halo has never been good at Bosses. In fact I can’t name one. Was there one in ODST? I don’t recall.

I agree that Bosses, be them in a Mech or awesome of their own accord, are a necessity for Halo 5.

halo has had great bosses

the brute in halo 2
scarabs in general (which we haven’t fought in the past 3 games WTF)
guilty spark

the lightrifle’s reticule needs to change, but more importantly it should behave more like the needle rifle. Like the needle rifle, it should take 3 body shots to an unshielded enemy to make a supercombine. What would make the lightrifle a decent weapon though is if that supercombine was possible through an unscoped shot–since an unscoped lightrifle already shoots 3 beams.

congrats 343 i just made the lightrifle a good and useful weapon

I think the forerunner grenade is almost right. I think it should expand or whatever when it hits something, but I think it should maintain its velocity. Throw it down a hall, hits the floor, expands and keeps on rolling down the hall.

IMO would be the best application for that type of grenade.

My ideal slayer playlist is one where everyone has AA/SR/Supressor starts, and ordnance drops build your loadout. So say for your first ordnance drop it gives you an option between br/dmr/carbine, or whatever. Pick it up, and now whatever you chose from that drop will spawn with you after you die. If you get two drops a game that means you’ll work your way up to spawning with an AA and the weapon of your choosing, and of course if you design the game to give you more drops it’ll just affect your loadout all that much more.

so now ordnance drops don’t reward you with random weapons, which was a big complaint before, and they’re not so easily lost, like in the recent team throwdown playlist. this means you can still design the maps with the weapons placed how you want with the timers the same etc etc.

imo that’s the correct implementation of the ordnance/loadout systems working together.

whoever approved crimson dlc should be fired.

I know everyone and their mother has things to say about this game but for the sake of ‘i really would like at least one person at 343 to hear these good ideas’ I’m going to bump this from time to time. but yeah in unrelated news I made this gametype called blitzball that is the evolution of grifball. check it out.

1 rock should be enough to blow up a warthog, seriously

friendly bump.

Airborne Vehicle Idea:

I imagine it being able to shift direction very quickly using a thrust maneuver that works similar to the Thruster Pack.

It’s primary firing mode would be two lasers similar to the Sentinal Beam from Halo 3.
It’s secondary firing mode would launch four Pulse Nades, but more accurately than if you were throwing them.

Also, because of it’s strafe maneuver, it should be relatively weak.
Just one direct rocket should do the job.
