Changes I think could improve Halo Infinite

can this video from rocket sloth also not give a lot off idea’s what halo infinite really needs to inprove.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUSNeBz2d3E

there are really a lot and i mean a lot off good idea’s on it.

Player Collision:
Having it disabled decreases the depth of the game as you don’t need to consider team mates when moving around. Enabling it would force players to consider positioning more, as you may end up hindering your team mate. Moving as / with a team in order to not mess each other up becomes a skill not linked to just massacring the enemy.

Friendly Fire:
As with player collision, friendly fire on would bring more depth to the game. Where you plant grenades and other explosives becomes something to consider, and not just “fire and forget” utilities. Carpet bombing a room with grenades while allies are inside not getting a scratch cheapens the tactics and makes for no drawbacks to that tactic.

Multiteam:
From what I understood it’s on its way.
However, Multiteam has been quite fun over the years. It’s quite a different experience with a small team against far more enemies. With a higher player count it’s possible to have several teams of 4.
Reminder that Rocket Race was multiteam.

Conquest:
Popular mode on Battlefront 2 ( Original ), also available in MP format in Mechwarrior Online.
Basically you select a faction and play matches to attack or defend areas on a map, where the outcome of the match influence the ownership of the attacked area.

Purgatory:
Instead of an outright ban, what would happen instead is that players who qualify for a ban would be removed from the normal pool of players, and instead put in “Purgatory”.
What that means is that players can continue playing as per normal, but they get no rewards, no challenges and stats tracked, there’s a massive watermark visible so you have it on clips if you record something.
A few consecutive clean matches are required to get back into normal Matchmaking, and even then you’re on probation, go back in for some and you have more consecutive clean matches to complete than the first trip there. Can’t wait it out. Take a month break and you still need to complete them when you get back.

BTB balanced vehicle spawns:
The pelicans coming down with random vehicles csn throw the match wildly on anyone’s favour.
A Scorpion for one team and a standard Warthog is going into the Scorpion side’s team. Make vehicle spawns symmetrical.

Basically my stuff.

Yes. Exactly. Like in Halo MCC where objective based stuff has its own special playlist. Like Fiesta, Oddball, Race and similar would be under Action Sack. CTF, Territories and what not would be under like Asset Denial. Now mind you I’m well aware that Infinite doesn’t have near as many modes as MCC does yet but I think eventually when the time comes and there are enough. Would make the UI much neater too and keep the expected wait times per playlist.

Player collision has been added above already.

Unforntually I don’t think Halo has the player population to add in these playlists.

So what you’re saying is that cheaters get the opportunity to continue cheating but they just don’t get stats?

I haven’t played enough BTB to have an opinion on this so I’ll add it above.

Adding more ways to play is in my book an improvement.
Improvements if done right and marketed properly can lead to an influx of staying players.

Conquest would add some sort of incentive outside of BP and weekly rewards to play, and the mode itself promote winning.

Basically yes, but they’re out of the regular pool of players, so they’d play other cheaters, quitters, AFKers etc, and get literally zero things for their efforts.

The only thing that will bring back the player population is fixing desync, aiming, and servers. Then 343 can add more gametypes and additional content. Gametypes are cool and all but they aren’t fun when the game doesn’t work.

Personally, I like this idea for quitters and AFKers. Cheaters on the other hand should be account, IP, and hardware banned on third strike.

Are you really going to get into an argument on what kind of improvements are or aren’t relevant to the game, suggestions someone else made. After asking for suggestions:

While listing “Grenade bouncyness” and “Shield regen” in your own list??

Let them play all against each other.
AFKers, griefers and quitters will have to deal with it and learn to play properly if they don’t like it in purgatory.
Cheaters stay there as detriments and learn how “fun it is in the long run” when they auto-kill or whatever they manage to do.
i343 can get valuable information on cheating methods and so forth from live-groups in action to combat cheating and fill up the pool of cheaters even more.

No, I’m trying to keep this post more about gameplay improvements and less about adding more content/playlits. There has already been plenty of threads about those.

Not sure what you’re trying to question here. Grenades and shield regen are gameplay related.

Call of Duty once attempted this, and it didn’t work. I don’t think cheaters should be allowed to play at all. Period.

I do agree with AFKers and quitters through.

Quality of life improvements accross the board. Customization needs to be improved and so does the menus and challenges. Basically just smaller stuff that will make life so much easier for everyone.

Menu optimization

While I appreciate the sentiment, this can only work if the game runs properly.
I’ve had Infinite crashing on me numerous times and eventually got bans for it. I literally have video proof of the game crashing and the 343 support guy himself told me to appeal the bans, but nothing happened because (and I quote) “disconnecting from games will result in temporary bans from matchmaking as it affects the entire lobby. This is intentional and bans of this nature are not reviewable or editable”
It’s already bad enough that the player gets punished for something which is the game’s fault and thus completely out of their control, but at least you have the possibility of coming back after the ban has expired.
Your suggestion would pretty much screw over the players potentially indefinitely. Pair that with Infinite’s timed events and challenge rewards and not only are you extending a giant middle finger to your playerbase but would eventually just lead to them stop playing altogether if they have no chance of unlocking anything ever again, which is something Infinite really can’t afford.

How to start a great infinite session:

First game starts as a 3v4… CTF. How about a forfeit option or not even start a game? Nobody in 6 years thought of this? How…. HOW?!

Second game: won round 1 of oddball, suddenly console shuts down completely. First time in countless games. Happens, no big problem. Oh wait, it is because 343 is too stupid to provide a rejoin feature.

-30 CSR for free, tried one more game, lost it because all teammates went negative.

Conclusion: a fun game is ruined by utterly stupid design decision and lack of pure skill in game development. So I spent my time with something else.

I still can’t believe theres so much incompetence that the most simple features aren’t in the game. 6 years and millions of $. Unbelievable.

Lol new to halo? It’s always been one hit take down of shields. But what’s worse is how much faster a pc player can melee multiple times before a controller player can.

Saying “PC” player here is misleading. Majority of us play with a controller, and on PC with a controller, you very rarely get a melee lunge for some reason., M&KB players get the lunge and double melee very quickly.

Just because you got used to it over time doesn’t make it right. Same for stuff like broken motion tracker that’s basically a wallhack or many many other things that are either vastly outdated by now or were just badly implemented from the get-go. There’s a reason nobody wants to play this game even for free outside a tiny die-hard fanbase that’s as old as the OG H:CE.
