I’m curious to know what kinds of changes for future Halo games generally receive a consensus within the community. Of course, we all know about the things that cause debates and arguments. And even the things mentioned in this thread will likely have a few dissenters here and there. But what kinds of things do the community generally agree need to be changed?
So far, I’ve come up with the following:
bringing back black undersuits
bringing back classic Firefight
nerfing or removing Spartan Charge
Personally, I’ve seen little to no debate or argument on these topics. What kinds of things have you seen that the community generally seems to agree on for future Halo games?
A revamp on the REQ system. I think I can say for most of us, the REQ system in Halo 5 was either not handled well, or was just never a good idea in the first place. I’ve seen and read tons of text where people talk about it and how it can be changed to our liking and 343i’s liking. I’m gonna explain how I think 343i should change the REQ system if they are to have it in future Halo titles.
First off, we need to tone down on the absolute randomness of the REQ system. Whether that means make packs for cosmetics and weapons separate in different packs, or just do way with the rng altogether and make the REQ points into currency for buying specific items in the REQ store. My idea is to make the REQ system into a currency like from Reach, but have daily deals in the store’s front page. Make REQ points available for purchase in the store.
Assuming that you’ll still be getting the same amount of REQ points each game in Halo 6 as you did in Halo 5, here are how the costs should be:
Common (White): 100-250 REQ points - Uncommon (Green): 250-500 REQ points - Rare (Blue): 500-2,5000 REQ points - Ultra Rare (Purple): 2,500-5,000 REQ points - Legendary (Yellow): 5,000-25,000 REQ pointsNow that we have the cost out of the way, not everything can be in the REQ system. There still needs to be some limit to what is in there. I believe that some armor and other cosmetics need to be unlocked through achievements. Like maybe give Locke armor and helmet to those who complete the campaign on legendary co-op, and the Chief Armor to those who complete it on legendary solo. Something for those players who have completed the feat have something other then a cool background for their Xbox Home menu and 50+ gamerscore. The helmets and armor can still show up in the store, they will just have to say the requirements for the helmet so that people know what they need to do to get it in their armory. They’ll also most likely be marked with the mythic banner.
definitely a better story, but I’d also like them to revise the ranking system to make it more rewarding. There definitely needs to be ranked playlists but I don’t like how its currently done nor do I like the SR system. We need military ranks back from H3 and less seasonal resets.
Cough Precursors CoughLess Cliches
More Master Chief
Less Prometheans
Elites like the ones from Reach
Less random req system
More rewards for completing set objectives/tasks
(AND DONT THEN GIVE THEM AWAY AT A LATER DATE FOR FREE!! YES IM STILL SALTY ABOUT THE HELIOSKRILL VARIANTS!!)More of the expanded Universe being borught into the games like Spartan IIIs and Kilo 5

I was also kinda disappointed when I saw that you would be able to get it through the REQ system. It took its value and threw it away.

Yeah I had a few bad checkpoints on H2 legendary where I would be killed .7 seconds after respawn.Banging my head against that and learning how to dodge snipers and brute shots matrix style seemed worth it for the armour. I still wear the chest but I wear the Achilles helmet because it has more of an I earned it feel. TBH I would rather wear helioskrill but it definitely lost its shine

Yeah the req system is in-fact too random. I really want to collect armor and helmets, but since they’re unlocked one time and forever, it’s really difficult to get them in the maze of common weapons and vehicles.
An easier way to collect all of the REQs would be nice, and the black undersuits I definitely agree on. I see a lot of talk about the story, and honestly, yeah, a better one (or at least, a more well executed one) would be great, especially as someone who’s been with Halo a long time for the story. I loved Halo 4’s story, and would kill for something on that level again.
Though, I would disagree on Spartan Charge - I really like the dynamic it’s introduced, and I’m perfectly fine with it continuing to exist.
A return to a more militaristic feel and art style (classic).
I think the way the story ended in H5 could potentially set this up with the Guardians being positioned around the galaxy and EMP’ing everyone, would be cool if one of the earlier scenes was Chief putting back on a MK V retro fitted with thrusters as the new armors are unable to be maintained due to a lack of resources and/or are more susceptible to the Gaurdians EMP with the superior tech, forcing the Spartans to downgrade.
I would love to be able to get an armor, weapons, vehicle, and boost packs, but I don’t see them changing it to this, it’s all about the money. Possible changes, split screen, the amount of ammo given at spawn, more time playing as MC, more in depth story. These are a few things that would make me happy.

They definitely need a minimum of 2 packs. Something like a customisation pack for Arena only players which includes the armour, helmets, visors, assassinations and skins. Then, things exclusive to Warzone (everything else) go into a Warzone pack. Why should an Arena player be forced in to unlocking reqs exclusive to WZ if they never play the game type?
Out of everything we’re talking about, It would be pretty cool if Bungie joined 343 to help develop halo 6. Halo 6 to me would be interesting if multiplayer puts us through many training simulations before getting Challenges and missions, I know it sounds cod wise, but what I mean is if 343 expanded from The canonal multiplayer we could be able to try out many cool things like destiny, yet again Bungie was the sole developers of halo so if they joined we could turn halo into a much more interesting multiplayer where we’d each have our own Rooms along side an armoury in the Infinity. It would take awhile but, I wouldn’t care how long I’d take to expend the cannon multiplayer universe. It would have Gametypes being ranked to see who does the best in these simulations. One idea was bringing the flood back, but the mode would be called outbreak. Outbreak would be a flood simulation that’s canonal & so much more I wish to see… Hopefully you all agree that would be a Really great approach if halo wars 2 gets enough sells

Black undersuits?
Whatever. How about choosing the colour yourself as a third armour colour option?
Classic firefight?
As an addition? OK… Why not…
nerfing or removing spartan Charge?
Nope, Keep it!
What really annoys me are the random reqs.
Why not have at least vehicles only packs / weapons only packs / boosts only packs? So you at least know roughly what you’re getting…
And why not unlock and buy customization options with req points? Example:
Armour Set X, requires spartan Level Y (or whatever) to unlock and costs Z req points. (Legendaries costing more than normals obviously)
Instead of buying random PACKS for Money (which mostly contain junk you don’t want), you could buy req POINTS for money…
No more req packs? Micro-transactions are the worst type of lazy , greedy game development. I understand if it is all cosmetic , I couldn’t care less about armour or colors or attachments that make me a snowflake. However , when you lock weapons behind a random pay wall , it is called pay to win. I could spend an extra 2k$ and own every weapon in the game as soon as they come available.
Please 343 make a Halo game , not Halo 6: ATM.
