Change the HUD colour slightly and the ingame info??(MM)

Yeah I think in Reach in some situations that the HUD colour is little bit too bright, especially the crosshair. In the sky you see nearly to nothing which is on maps like pinnacle a pain.

The same with the ingame info … like “You killed XYZ with a headshot”… it’s just too long in goes too far in the screen.

Anyone who played splitscreen knows the worst scenario. In gametypes like Swat it’s just so annoying when there is this whole text nearly to the middle of the screen in the same colour like the crosshair

does anyone agree or am I alone with this opinion, I’m open for thoughts.
Please be kind with my English skills as I’m not a native user of it.

You know what? We should have the ability to customise the colour scheme of the hud, reticle, etc. Even Fallout 3 managed to do that.

Yeah expected this already in Reach … best idea probably

But the more stuff they cram into the game the more Bugs/glitches there will be, AND the worse the Graphics and audio and A.I will be… Sadly. Curse -Yoink!- and their outdated consoles!

I would like to see this in Halo 4, but i suppose 343 can only do so much

Is that supposed to be a parody to something?

Are you Referring to the initial, -Yoink!-? Because That’s what i use for Microsoft. And yes it is a parody of their name because the thing they care more about than Quality or Customer service and appreciation is… Money.

I meant the crying of adding new stuff, which a lot of people have been doing.

Lots of games let you do that already. I’m surprised this feature was never in the newer Halo games o.0

Good point.

Changing HUD colors is lame. Not that I have any personal problems when you guys are running around with lime green or pink HUD’s, but it just doesn’t fit Halo. Besides, blue is a calm color that is present but doesn’t distract too much from things going on. So sticking with blue is the best option.

But I agree with the OP. The colors should be a bit darker. In Reach things are way too bright, and on certain maps you’re basically shooting without knowing exactly if your reticle lines up with your target.

They should add a minuscule black edge around the (inner circle of your) aiming reticle. That way it will always be visible. Look at your mouse pointer and try to hide it on the screen. It’s impossible to do so because it has two very contrasting colours: white with a black edge.

Nothing else really bothers me about the HUD, Reach’s HUD was already 5x better than in the beta. (When your shields are down, they really stand out + aiming reticle is much more visible)
On splitscreen is impossible to play and see everything anyway, no HUD changes can fix that problem…

Urgh, I’m getting really sick of this whole “It’s not Halo!”. Why not include it? What possible bad reason could there be for including it? It doesn’t subtract from anything the game has, the only person noticing would be the actual person who changes it, and if you want it to remain blue you can leave it blue.

Cause you know, people suffering from colour blindness should be completely ignored…

I personally would like the visor outline (Think Halo 3 and ODST) to be a darker shade of blue, with the ammo and shield counters that colour the Crysis 2 HUD uses.

Yeah, me having a green HUD definitely isn’t Halo (sarcasm).

I agree with you, it’s a small feature that won’t bother those who don’t want it because it literally won’t affect them; unless they don’t like their brother having a red coloured HUD in Halo and go off at him for it

It is great to see that many are with me or have the same opinion

Of course a pink visor wouldn’t be Halo by halo standards, but that aren’t armor effects either … It’s just a cosmetic feature which doesn’t bother anyone else… so I think changeable HUD colors would be ok.

Or just a little darker or with black outlines.

Does anyone have also the problem with the text?

a customizable UI would be wonderful. Sure, it’s not the most needed thing, but it’s always the little things that can distinguish an amazing game from a simply “alright” game.

I would like some pre set hud colors to choose from

It was originally going to be in Reach but it ended up getting cut for constraint reasons I think. Would be nice though, if they could fit it in that is.

Anyone who disagrees with this really needs to give up on the Not Halo argument.

If this is done well it would make machinimas 20x better, help color blind people, add variety, fix problems, allow for personal choices.

343i, are you reading about this awesome feature!!!

The problem with alternate color schemes is that it could complicate the enemy/ally color changes with the reticule. But yeah I agree to a point. In Halo CEA it’s hard to see what’s on your HUD a lot of the time.
