Now, I can’t fully stand behind “nobody,” as that’s a huge generalization.
I can, however, stand behind the fact that I have yet to meet a single person who has disagreed with my theory. Although, I won’t deny the chances for you guys to disagree.
My theory: (all examples are assumed to have a DMR)
-If an enemy and myself start shooting each other at the same time and we both have two shots on each other, then one of my teammates shoots him and that is the only thing that saves my life, that person deserves an assist medal.
-Another example would be if one of my teammates had been shot once in the head and I shoot an enemy twice in the body. This enemy then runs around the corner and starts battling my teammate. With the current system, assuming my teammate gets the kill, I would not receive an assist medal. With my system, I would.
Basically, with my system, a single shot to someone would reward said person with this an assist.
How this would affect us: Those games where one has less kills than deaths, but said person has aided in so many kills for said person’s teammates but not received assist medals. Said person seems as if he/she didn’t help – though he/she DID. This system would allow a person’s entire aid to the team to show.

A couple things that have been brought to my attention:
Q.) What if all 4 members from a team shoot a person and one person gets a kill?
A.) Assuming it takes 5 headshots to kill someone, all 4 people will receive an assist… all 4 people assisted with the kill. Yes.
Q.) Won’t this void the “Assistant” commendation?
A.) No! One still must earn THOUSANDS of assists for this commendation to reach Onyx and to become maxed out… THOUSANDS! Of course this system would make it a little easier… but so what? It’s ONE (1) commendation!
I fully believe this system would only be beneficial.
I always hear people saying, “I KNOW(!) I assisted in more kills than this! That’s -Yoink-!”
I also hear, “WHAT?! I didn’t get an assist on that? Bull -Yoink-!”
