Change Prometheans...

Probably the one millionth post on this topic. Prometheans are honestly the most boring enemy to fight in Halo history. They do ridiculous amounts of damage, have huge health bars, and somehow manage to be extremely fast on top of that… how is this fun? Warzone firefight has given me a real appreciation of the Covenant, since they actually die when you empty a clip into them. Prometheans are just tedious in all aspects, from the god annoying way they fight, to the pure volume of numbers they have when they do so. They were sort of okay in Halo 4, because the armor abilities and such to combat them, but now? they have way larger numbers and can just decimate you in seconds.
Warzone Firefight on ARC is a prime example of this. The ‘Defend the Garage’ round, is absolutely f***ing insane. How they expect you to be able to beat back that amount of prometheans for 5 minutes is just pure idiocy. 9/10 you will lose. I just played a match where it looked like we might pull through, when all of a sudden a wave of soldiers and knights stormed the garage, firing incineration canons and splinter grenades everywhere, leaving absolutely nobody with a chance of survival, then mobbing the garage with 50+ enemies including 2 phaetons, so we couldn’t possible get back in.

For Halo 6, prometheans really just need to disappear, they’re not interesting story wise anymore and they’re all round boring enemies. I’d rather see another faction like The Banished from Halo Wars 2 take center stage as Cortana’s stooges. Probably won’t happen, but Prometheans definitely need some kind of nerf at least…

I don’t want them to remove them. Just needs a nerf.

More or less thats what they need. Removing them is abit of an extreme and they make more fun and challenging opponents than 1 hs grunts jackals and elites who are the only challenging covenant other than hunters.

Little tip for defending the garage… get in there and crouch half way up the small circular staircase. Don’t shoot or draw attention to yourself, just sit there. As your team mates charge in the main doors almost all the Ai will be focussed on them. You get the odd crawler or soldier come down but that’s it. I’ve had great success with this strat  I also agree with the Promethians, they’re ok and have their place but the covenant enemies are way more fun to fight, maybe even a return of the brutes?

Bring back Brutes!!!

Prometheans are the best thing that have ever happened to Halo in a long time. They’re especially leagues better than the flood.

I prefer the flood over bullet sponges any day

I think they could do with incremental damage, more prices flying off. And more weak points. It made Knights more interesting to fight. Maybe it’d work for others.

I don’t understand how anyone enjoys the Prometheans. They are extremely uncompelling and boring enemies to fight, and they’re incredibly annoying. I agree they need to be removed. They are not cool, they are not intimidating, I just find them to be both boring and obnoxious. I don’t even find them “too hard” to fight. They’re just so…dull. The Covenant species are leagues better in their visual design, and how they go about engaging the player, and their place in the Halo universe. The Covenant are entertaining to do battle with, but I’m already yawning as I empty an entire magazing into one Soldier and it still wasn’t enough to finish it off, and with 9 other soldiers behind him you have to keep making trips to Walmart for ammunition. No thanks, I’d love to see them go.

I agree, bullet sponges with tracking bullets… like… why… not fun, just boring and annoying

I don’t mind the prometheans.

I literally just made a post a few minutes ago, stating that the Covenant has personality as a foe, Prometheans, don’t.

…“and with 9 other soldiers behind him you have to keep making trips to Walmart for ammunition.”

But that, that just made me LOL, despite the fact that it’s so true.

I agree that they need to be nerfed. I don’t mind them, they’re tough opponents, but right now in WZFF they are just way, way too OP’d

The problem is not, that they are to hard. The problem is, that there is no real strategy behind that. If I shot an elite, he gives me a reaction. But a soldier just keeps on shooting. They can run and shoot, teleporting and shoot, with homing-projectiles.
An Elite gives me the opportunity to react of is moveset, not so prometheans. They just spawn everywhere and you can’t anticipate where they spawn. The covenant has to land, and you can prepare for the situation.

Sorry 343… I love halo and I love firefight, but I hate prometheans and not in a good way. Not like “I love to hate the brutes” or “I love how much I’ve been scared by the flood” no… I hate them like “I’d like to quit the game because I hate this”.

I personally like the promethan sand I doubt 343 is gonna remove them some tweaks on them is all they need

The accuracy they have is extremely annoying and bs. Just a slight nerf to their HP and accuracy and everything will be fine.

Wouldn’t count on it, they were created by 343 and remember everything made by 343 is the greatest thing ever in their minds!

I also hate the Prometheans, when compared to the covenant they are tedious and boring to fight. Removing them might not be the best idea though, but making them a little more interesting to fight would be great.

I also don’t want to see Prometheans ever again. I recently beat Halo 4 on Heroic, and I was tired of them pretty quickly. Tended to try weeding them out with the Light Rifle from a distance so I wouldn’t get mobbed. Between the packs of Crawlers, the hard hits/durability of the Knights, and the resurrecting abilities of the Watchers, it got really tedious, especially in the last level, “Midnight”, oh boy.

At least the Flood elicit fear, apprehension. Prometheans elicit the emotion of “…these guys again?”.
