343 please change it so that you cannot betray anyone in griffball. I hate when im in a match, and i am getting spawn trapped by my teammates. You guys did it with infection, please do it in griffball. It’d be much appreciated.
Might I direct you to one of the many other threads on this exact same issue?
Regardless, 343i does not control the gametype, GrifballHub does. There are many reasons why betraying will not be turned off such as doing so would change the gameplay mechanics for the worse.
Now please, someone lock this thread. The issue has already been beaten to death too many times.
Girfball is. Good like that… They should disable the betrayals in matchmaking games ( slayer / swat / etc… ) Cuz some people also betray me to take weapons from me and I don’t get the option to boot them… Which makes me mad
Turn OFF friendly fire in grifball?! I know a few people who play with me that’d LOVE that! Too bad it’s not gonna happen.
(And no, I don’t usually betray intentionally. Most are accidental SA fails on my part.
)
Well then you could just swing your hammer without any caution whatsoever!
Adjust the gravity and make it so you can’t jump to eliminate the hammer launch.

That’s also a terrible idea.

That’d screw over the bomb carrier pretty badly, wouldn’t it?

You got that right! Avoiding the enemy hammers would be next to impossible then.

Just a bit.
That would lead to a lot of abuse of hammer launching and take away a level of skill and strategy that defines Grifball as an online sport.
So no, it will not be removed, and it never should.
Actually, 343i has direct control over the servers that house the maps & game types, and it’s 343i that controls what game types actually go in the match making hopper. Grifballhub submits what they suggest to 343i, but it’s 343i that actually puts it in the computers.
Grifball can’t be changed to account for douchie Human nature. If you make Grifball -Yoink- proof, you ruin the game type. For reasons already listed you have to leave in friendly fire, or you totally alter the way the game is played.
Grifball is a team sport - you need to make on line friends that will play it correctly and play with them. The game type can’t be changed to make it enjoyable for four lone wolves who just want to play their own way although they are on the same team, or worse, grief their own team.
The runner needs to talk to the tanks, so everyone really needs to have a mic. and work together AS A TEAM.
Your only solution to enjoy Grifball sans -Yoinks!- is to play with a team of folks you know. And even then you may encounter a -Yoink- opposing team that won’t score, but will hang on to the bomb and just stat pad kills.
I suggest you go to the recruiting forum and find a group / community / clan to join that plays Grifball.
You can also join one or all of these three sites to find good folks to play Grifball with correctly:
