343, could you maybe do me a favor and remove the Spartan’s finger from the trigger guard in the Assault stance? It goes against any weapons training that anyone would receive, let alone that of a Spartan. I can provide legitimate reference material, if needed. Thanks.
Also, when someone walks up to a wall, their gun goes through the wall. Completely unrealistic.
It’s a game, dude. There are technical limitations. Not all animations and stances are going to be 100% accurate.
Congratulations on your strawman fallacy.
My point still stands. It’s not a technical limitation, it’s limitation of the knowledge of the artists.

And how is this a big deal anyway? Im pretty sure there are bigger things in Halo 4 that need fixing, rather than removing a finger from a trigger on a player card.
Nice, a red herring! You guys are really good at these.
It doesn’t matter, a problem is a problem. Will it get fixed? With 343’s track record, probably not, but it still needs addressed. Maybe they’ll avoid making another silly mistake in the future. Trigger discipline is a serious issue that is often overlooked.
This is really a problem for you? Ok, fine, but you must know there is no way something so trivial will be changed?
What’s the point of this thread really? If you were trying to promote a greater respect of basic gun safety in the future, you did a very poor job IMO.

It wont get fixed.
Why?
No need for it.
And, it is surprisingly hard to remove that finger from the trigger. A single finger is pretty hard to move on a 3D model.
> A single finger is pretty hard to move on a 3D model.
Hard for a layman, maybe. If you’re getting paid a game designer’s salary at a studio like 343, I would hope it wasn’t that difficult for you. In fact, I’d wager that if something like that was that difficult for you, you wouldn’t even make it through the interview process.

Even a small task like this isnt as easy as it would seem.
Even a small piece of extra coding can break the whole game.
I dont think 343I is going to take that kind of risk just to remove a finger from a trigger in one of the player cards.
Nor would they even see a proper reason to use resources to do such a small thing.

The point was to pass on knowledge that the developer of a video game that
uses “Marines” in their story line should have prior to making the game.
I don’t remember if it was Halo 2 or Halo 3, but I distinctly remember watching a video that showed Bungie working with actual Marines to make sure the AI tactics were on par with what would happen in actual combat. Again, that was Bungie. They cared about the little details. You would probably be very surprised at how many people are bothered by such a “small” thing.

Do you work in technology? Have you ever written a program? I have. Something this small wouldn’t “break” anything. The code more than likely calls a stored image on a server that has nothing to do with the code of the game-play. Did the creation of half a dozen new stances break the game? No, it didn’t. You’re arguing for the sake of arguing without having real-world knowledge of the subject.

I have studied this subject at school. Next year i will begin computer engineering classes.
There is always a chance that even a small change in the game’s coding is capable of destroying something else in the game. And wasting time and resources on fixing a problem that is making 1 person mad is just stupid.
Literally, i have never seen anyone anywhere complain about this, since its not a big deal. You are just creating an argument for the sake of an argument.

That being said, what is your point? 343 is a different company all together. I don’t think they are going to fix something so small so late into a game. You’re arguing just to argue.

I’ve never seen a starving third-world child, but I know they exist.
Here’s a free programming lesson for you: If changing the code that calls an edited image breaks a game, you are terrible at your job and should probably be fired.
I’m arguing for the sake of getting a point across.

Now you are just getting offensive.
Im not in any job right now, so i cant be fired.

“You” wasn’t actually referring to you, personally. That’s just basic sentence comprehension, man.
I’m sure a finger being in the wrong place is near the bottom of 343i’s to-fix list, right above graphical clips. I can’t believe you’re serious about this.

At first I thought he was trolling, then when I realized he was serious I almost started laughing. Nothing against you OP, it’s just that you’re the only person on Halo Waypoint with an issue this small

The grammar police usually lack logic & perspective. Makes sense, technically, but just ironic.
