Okay, what I mean by this is, instead of the usual Warthog explodes and disappears after awhile, what if you flew a banshee, and someone EMPed you with their Plasma Pistol, so your vehicle would hit the ground if falling fast enough, and embed itself in the ground, or your exploded Warthog can be used as field cover in a firefight. What’s your input on this guys?
This is actually a really good idea!
Thanks, this is from assorted movies slash videogames like in the campaign of Battlefield 2. You can take cover behind your destroyed vehicles, and this would in my opinion add the aspect of chaos to the game.
Not a bad idea but I would just like crash my Banshee on our Flag and prevent the enemy from taking it. Like how you can blow up a Scorpion on top of your flag now.
Semi-sweet. I don’t really like the idea for mulitplayer, but for FireFight why not?
But it would properly take to many processing cycles, and slowly eat the memory.
I hadn’t thought of that before, not exactly sure how they could stop that…
My approval is given
The vehicles would need to disappear after a certain amount of time, or Big Team games would start chuggung around the 5 minute mark. Plus destructible ground would eat into the processing budget, though you could still stick a vehicle in and add some blackening/cracked textures to the ground around it.
I like the idea, but I would like to see more maps with interactive environments. Things like the switches on Last Resort and Longshore.
What you’re suggesting would unfortunately probably be difficult to implement with current technology. Interactive maps are likely easier to control with memory, etc.
A good idea, but it just wouldn’t work. What happens when the warthog respawns? You could have infinitely many crashed warthogs, and that would not end well. The only way would be if it was similar to Highlands with the crashed pelican where it was already included in the map. Also, more interactive switches is a definite.
Sorry that I haven’t thought about programming, but I do agree with the switches, or even things that could slightly change the way people strategize, like a destroyable bridge, that you could then get by on foot only, or something. Like the Bridge on Tszvo Highway where you have a pathway, but it’s blocked, you know, something to change up the way things would happen.
I think that maybe a ‘smoldering warthog remains’ item would be good. Like, a forge-able item that acted like cover yet looked like a Kat-driven Hog. But your idea is kick -Yoink- too! Keep it up!
