Report the post the same way you’d report a rulebreaking post, instead of PMing a moderator. That way, we can all see the deletion request, and anyone who’s online can handle it for you.

I wonder if somebody could shed some light on the subject? Does anyone know if the new weapon skins/armor skins actually use less memory than the brand-new armor sets (Mark V, ODST, Prefect, and Ricochet) or the brand-new armor mods (Survivor, Recharge, and Resistor).

Yea if firefight could make a comeback im all for it.

So Mark V doesn’t work in SpOps? sadface

I haven’t checked this thread in a while, seeing it was on the second page made me assume there would be no fix… reading through it has confirmed that, and damn that’s a bummer.

But thinking about it… kinda makes sense. I mean… I don’t want to sound like a suck up or anything because I’m still a bit ticked off bout this… but 343 has had to deal with SUCH a ravenous and screaming fanbase since the release of the game… and the majority of the most vocal complaints have been about Matchmaking. Its pretty clear thats where all their attention went, and honestly… don’t think I blame them. Spartan Ops was/is fun, but it was in no way the massive success I think they were hoping for. It’s… almost like a separate entity and game of its own, really. Pretty sure it had its own designated teams the whole time it was still new and stuff.

Anyways… with all the backlash from competitive matchmaking people, can’t blame them for abandoning what was much less populated to focus on the thing that should give the game longevity. Us people who dug the campaign and Spartan Ops… we weren’t as vocal in the same ways about interest and wanting more and skins and armor and all the other stuff that people were about Matchmaking stuff, so they… honestly had no true commitment to develop it.

Even now, we complaining about SO stuff not working are a rather sad minority, here. Because for the most part, our “kin” is people who play Campaign and SO and couldn’t give a crap about maps and skins for matchmaking… so this really… isn’t something I find myself being able to blame anybody for.

Still think the whole not-warning us thing was a screw up, but with everything else, I’m inclined to believe it was a simple mistake of not saying it and it just… it sucks, but its nothing in the long run for them.

I’M BABBLING CUZ IT’S LIKE 4:30 A.M. My bad.

I just really hope they learn a tad bit from this. If they’re going to do a campaign-y spinoff game thing in Halo 5, keep at least a couple guys working on the project so that crap like this doesn’t come up and alienate a rabidly loyal, no matter how small, fanbase.

I do not detest or hate 343i for the bugs, they are a small company and Halo 4 has been their launch title.

I think they made a great Halo game, not measuring up to the “old” trilogy, but still a great start.

In the first few month of the release it was obvious that they were focusing more on the community than Bungie did in the end with Halo: Reach. Most people, I’m sure, remember the change from Bungie to 343i. They changed things instantly within the matchmaking of Reach, sometimes improving long lasting issues and sometimes making them worse.

Halo 4 blew me away with the MP, it was a change I had long been waiting for in matchmaking. They were and are still tweaking it.

The champions bundle is a pretty great example of fan service, most people tend to focus on all it’s bugs. We got 2 fan favorite armors back and 2 new ones, a lot of weapon skins, one new game mode, 1 new map and 1 golden oldie and several armor skins for existing armors.

Everyone wants those bugs fixed including me and if there is a way they will, but fixing some “small” bugs could mean weeks of work for the programming team of 343i.

I’m still checking the forums daily, to see if there is any new info regarding these bugs. The only thing i would like to know is if they are making a fix, i can’t find any info about this.

I’ve now grown tired of Halo and 343i. They abandoned Spartan Ops, have made Spartan Ops challenges even worse in payout as if to say, “We read your posts, and how do you like theses apples?” Basically they’ve told us to bleep-off, so I will.

I’m off to play Borderlands 2, Skyrim, X-Plane 10 GE, and Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. I have many more non-Halo games to play when I tire of those. Later, and good hunting.

Yeah after forcing SpOps down the FireFight fans throats at release I feel the same way, no support whatsoever for SpOps after release why did they even bother. I won’t even mention them removing FF doubles from Reach which I miss playing to this day

Honestly I’m tired of 343’s so called “excuses”. It’s not that they “can’t” fix the DLC problem it’s that they “don’t” want to so they continue to swindle people out of their money. You know what 343 said about the GRD helmet in Reach? We can’t add new armor if it’s not on the disc, this is true and would be a viable excuse IF this were the case with halo 4, Halo 4 allows NEW armor pieces, skins, ect. to be added even if it isn’t on the disc, so how is it not possible to make it compatible with existing features of the game?! Honestly I curse 343 to fail at all future halo games they make just because of this sad excuse for DLC.

I just don’t understand how pre-release they can be like “Halo 4: Spartan Ops is going to change the future of gaming,” or something along those lines, and not even make a second season after saying “oh, yeah we’re going to have new episodes every week.” Not only did they completely ditch Spartan Ops, but they showed that they don’t care even more by giving us DLC that DOESN’T WORK WITH IT!

They really should have just given us a Firefight mode. Spartan Ops was a joke. Maybe if they followed through with what they promised, it would be a bit better, but right now. It’s disgraceful.

And why again are you on the Halo 4 forums? Go on, leave already. No need to make a scene.

So, 343i just released their plans for an upcoming patch at the end of September that will fix most of the issues that came with the Champions DLC; including that glitch where the new armor appears as Scout/Inner-Plated in 1st-person, and the issue where loadouts, unlocks, and Spartan points reset after playing campaign.

Unfortunately, it seems we’ll never get to use the Champions DLC content in Spartan Ops, as it was not listed among the upcoming fixes.

On the bright side, 343i is planning on experimenting with DLC required playlists, bringing back Race and Rocket Race, and Ricochet is staying as a permanent playlist.

They’re also experimenting with adding Skulls to Spartan Ops, but not in a way we expected; rather than let us select skulls as we can in Campaign, we’ll only be able to play them in Spartan Ops matchmaking and the skulls will be presets. The first round will be with Grunt Birthday Party, IWHBYD, and Mythic.

This is all from the latest Halo Bulletin. See for yourself.

Just a thought, but with all current DLC content being included in the H4 GOTY edition, wouldn’t the Champs DLC armor work in SpOps if it’s all on-disc, assuming it is all on-disc?

Unfortunately, no. The problem is not that they can’t fit the content onto your hard drive or into storage; it’s that they can’t fit it into memory at the same time as the base content and the Spartan Ops engine.

Oh ok, thanks for explaining it. I’d imagine that pretty much seals the issue for good. Would be kind of tough for any programmer to get around that limitation I would think.

Come one I mean how much possible memory could adding new skins add to the work load? Would it be so hard to cut out a small unused portion of some of the maps and make it slightly smaller, or maybe delete a few unnecessary objects to add room for the new armor? Its just seems like there are a ton of subtle ways they could fix this problem.

I’ve come to terms with the fact that Spartan Ops isn’t going to get the new armor or weapon skins. But I guess I’m done with Spartan Ops now. Got Vanguard last night (hint on the Crawler Snipers…watch Netflix on your laptop while doing it) so I really don’t have any reason to play and it lacks any of the replayability that Firefight had. I might try the upcoming playlists with skulls but we’ll see. Being able to use the Champions armor would certainly help me decide on that. I’m a bit behind on matchmaking though since I’ve been so focused on Firefight so maybe it’s time to hop in that especially since most of the playlists with commendations are rotational now.

What I would really like to know from 343 is why that’s the case. It’s fine to tell us “oh, it can’t fit” but when they built (or at least serviced up) the frame into which all this content goes the question comes back around to why the game wasn’t built to allow for this additional content in this game mode. It’s not as if they couldn’t foresee cosmetic DLC in Halo when entire genres of gaming (FTP) are being built around it, so why the hell were they so remiss in planning for SOPS DLC?

I know saying this isn’t really helpful so to say, but 343 instead of sitting here taking time to tell us you can’t why not take more time to find ways to make it possible. I understand its not something to fix overnight but take a nice page from bungie, if its what your fans want and its not stupid then make it happen. Cause I can guess a lot of people stand with me when I say I want my cool new stuff for useage to kick those hinge-head’s faces off.

Come on 343 this isn’t the kind of quality we expect from a company backed by Microsoft Studios.

Things break, it happens, bugs, glitches, errors, and coding isn’t easy. But leaving something that is clearly broken alone because you think it’s too hard to fix isn’t a solution.
