"Champions DLC doesn't work in Spartan Ops?"

> The more I read about this and various BS Angel twitter posts about the DLC being war games only the more I feel it isn’t going to change. That really is such a let down. It may be a negligible issue for some, but for people like myself it’s a bit of a slap in the face. Still going to keep my fingers crossed, but my hope is waning with each passing day with no news to the contrary of BS Angel’s response.

They denounced Halo: CEA (I didn’t want that so hopefully we’ll get this)

I was gona use this new stuff and armor to finish the 26% left for my forerunner enemies WTF this sucks cuz I wont be playing ops until its fix. I cant unless i look badass while doing it

> Man I would shout with joy if they indeed fix this !

I would shout for joy if they bothered to even give us the time of day.

If they aren’t going to fix their dlc, I expect some answers as to why not. I think at least a few people feel the same way, and I don’t feel that’s too large a request.

They’ve been so tight-lipped about it all, I doubt any of us will even get that.

It doesn’t matter. I’m not spending another red cent on anything they produce, regardless of whether or not they fix this. I may pick up Halo 4 again if they do, but they’ve lost me as a continued customer. I’ve purchased every game right since the first, and alot of the dlc as well. It’s people like me that kept Bungie in business, and made it possible for there to even BE a Halo franchise for 343 to milk.

They may not notice that I’m gone, but I know quite a few people like me who feel the same way. And when enough of the old guard disappears, and the regulars who buy the games year after year along with the dlc and the books and figures and other merchandise get fed up with their sub-par base effort and decide to pack it in, and all they have left are the casuals who possess only a marginal interest in the current installment, they’ll wish they had been more attentive on their way to the bread-line.

after all ups n downs since day1 343 does this 2 us t fans?800 mp m2 t garbage no wonder nobody plays halo4 anymore is shots in t foot over n over again not funny at all please bungie comeback (not possible 4 t next 10 years i know) :((

Still no word huh?

I wonder what the problem is? Is it something in the code? But then I think about how the Weapons Rebalance hasn’t been applied to Spartan Ops and it makes me think that its not a bug, but that they might just not care about it any more. Which would suck.

> Aye, that’s true. The problem first came to light after the Recharge and Survivor support upgrades were released via the Title Update on Monday; the day before the Champions DLC was released, but nonetheless… BS Angel only made that one forum post, no official announcement or anything.

> The result, most people didn’t find out until after they bought the DLC and tried using it in Spartan Ops.

Oh, ok. I though we were talking about after the DLC was released.

Which is why many of us are so up in arms about this. Its one thing if you comment on it after the fact. But to know about this beforehand, and then to be so nonchalant about it is just… Bad. Like, Bad.

Does anyone else get the horrible feeling that 343i is already too busy working on Halo 5 to fix all the little issues with Halo 4 and the CB DLC?

I had a bad feeling about them the first time I heard Bungie was signing over the franchise… and they haven’t done much to allay my fears.

I think they will be doing something about it

I am happy with what 343 has done though, both Spartan Ops and Armour DLC are massive additions to the Halo series and I’m interested to see where they can be taken

This thread is essentially the closest thing to a petition we cheated Spartan Ops fans have. If you don’t like it and are ok with allowing this unacceptable theft to continue, don’t read this topic. No one is forcing you to read this topic, so go on your merry way. Those of us who paid for this content ARE being forced to deal with theft of our money. All we want is for 343i to take responsibility for their mistake.

I’d like to think they would use Halo 4 as a learning experience and get it right before abandoning it in favour of Halo 5. On the most part I love what 343i have done so far but it’s almost as if they tease us with spartan ops. Call it season 1 then say no season 2 is coming, create some amazing cut scenes then leave us on a cliffhanger and then the biggest tease of all…release awesome new weapon skins and armour pieces only for us to find out after spending our money that we can’t even use them. 343i please prove you can release, update and patch a game to the satisfaction of those paying for it before expecting us to shell out for an xbox one to see if you get it right next time. Halo is my only reason for wanting an xbox one so personally I need to have my faith restored as I’m looking at potentially spending the best part of £500 on Halo 5.

I don’t see what the big deal tech-wise is with this. A TU probably isn’t even needed. If the DLC assets must be attatched to the Spartan Ops maps in order to be loaded, then why not re-release the Spartan Ops game mode dlc? SO is separate from the game, correct? Then all they have to do is add the new armor/skins/abilities to the SO master index, and require SO to be re-downloaded. The Champions DLC would simply tell the game this profile has access to the new inventory, and those who didn’t purchase the DLC will have the neccessary files to view the new items. Since SO is a separate DLC, War Games won’t be at risk to any possible glitches. This isn’t rocket science.

I suppose it’d be possible for 343i to do that, but not necessarily ideal. A download would be significantly slower than installing from the disc (though this is a moot point when dealing with Episodes 6-10).

A TU-based fix would probably allow them to deliver the content to Spartan Ops without requiring a download of significant size. If that’s impossible, though, then it seems clear that given the choice between no fix and a download-intensive fix, many players actually would choose the latter. (That, of course, introduces the question: should a download-intensive fix be mandatory for all players, or optional with unfixed-by-choice players seeing Recruit armor on others?)

Continuing my twitter campaign, challenging reviews and raising awareness of our struggle to be noticed.

It would appear that 343 is only interested in War Games. It would appear that co-op teamwork does not draw the crowds, just two, or more, undisciplined mobs going at each other with every player fighting to be #1 on the kill list, with or without backstabbing their own team to do so.

From that posted tweet I would think that Dalby had no idea that there was a issue with Champions Bundle.

I would vote for making the fix optional. Not everyone has a good internet connection.

Which is why I believe that Halo continues to struggle in this day and age. I don’t mind them trying to fix the multiplayer, but focusing on the story aspect of Halo is a missed opportunity to stand out from the other top market shooters.

And good on Solid1000 for not letting up. We at lest deserve some sort of explanation.

It seems this has been the case with every Halo game, with Reach we only got two DLC maps for Firefight while multiplayer got like 11 new maps from DLC plus Forge Maps

It was nice we got 50 missions for SpOps but it’s always the same thing when we replay it

It’s fine as only some of the DLC would even be usable in Spartan Ops
The other

MM is were the money and the players are - Spartan Ops is a side game for fun Nothing more

Match Making over everything -
