Well, this is unfortunate. If they really do have no plans to support Spartan Ops, then there really does need to be a disclaimer somewhere. My two cents.

I believe BS Angel is the Community Manager for 343i, so I’d say she’s an official source for information.

Sounds to me that Spartan Ops was intentionally left unsupported, for whatever reason. Which still begs the question of why no disclaimer.

Holy crap I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that BS Angel dropped a second bomb on us in a damn tweet, or there are no plans to allow people to use the content in Spartan Ops. This is simply ridiculous.
I seriously think this needs to be addressed in something like the next bulletin at the very least. Then there needs to be an update to let the content work. Otherwise I think people may want reimbursement.
This is utterly disappointing, that 343i did this, No disclaimer, AT ALL! I guess that 343i just doesn’t cater to and care about the community as much as Bungie did and still does

Heh, I joke. No worries, mate, it’s no harm on your part. The implications being given by the company itself were very different than what they wound up saying, and it’s not your fault when you were just working with what little information you had. Only recently have I even learned that you Monitors aren’t actually employees, so there’s very little blame that can come to you.
Still, I think everyone’s in agreement that the situation in its entirety is pretty lame. Unfortunately, that Tweet has very serious implications that 343 did this intentionally. I hate to be the guy that blows the “Big Bad Corporation” whistle, but this seems to have been a reeeeaally low blow.
Still. Maybe they’ll change it in the future, at some time or another. They’ve got a couple weeks before the update comes out that unlocks the Armor Mods for everyone. Maybe they’ll try to save some face by tossing it in there at the last second.
It’s curious that they keep saying that they “don’t plan on changing its functionality”, rather than saying they can’t change it at all. That’s what really has me thrown for a loop here.

It explicitly says, that the Steel Skin and the Infinity Armor Packs are for Halo 4, e.g. the whole game in my eyes. This addendum is missing for the Bullseye Pack - obviously because it’s for War Games only.
Wow, so they really are just kinda leaving us out to dry with this whole issue? Man… that’s kinda lame. I’ve kinda mostly supported this game since day 1, and I still genuinely like the campaign and story and S.O. and had some fun with Matchmaking… but at this point, I don’t even know what to do anymore.
343, I still think you guys did pretty OK for your first real swing of a game out of the box, but I really hope you guys get a bit more of your stuff together for the next round. Really love the Halo universe and the games, and really don’t want to see them fall because it turned into a money and numbers thing… good luck, guys.
I really missed the ODST armor and have used at least the helmet since Halo 3, and was really excited to see it was being added to Halo 4 with this pack. The MJOLNIR Mark V is also very cool, and the Prefect and Ricochet are pretty interesting. The Steel Weapon Skins look amazing as well, from what I’ve seen of a little demo video on YouTube…
I can’t really say much for the Ricochet Gametype or Pitfall and Virtigo Maps though, since I don’t and won’t even play War Games anymore due to my terrible ‘incompetence’ at it. I don’t run around no-scoping people with a Sniper Rifle or shooting them right in the face with a Rocket Launcher, so my performance suffers and I end up being a liability to my team. I say “screw it” and just play SPARTAN Ops instead where I perform really well in a co-operative setting.
It really is a downer that I spent ten Dollars to get all this when all I really get to use is the Stances that only come out of the big Bundle and not individually. Someone even asked why I use one of the new Stances but none of the armor pieces, and I told them that none of the new armor or even weapon skins work in SPARTAN Ops, and he was pretty pissed. I really hope there will be plans at some point to fix this.

There still has to be some chance they’ll fix this… right? The DLC has only been out two days, and there are other bugs that need fixing in addition to this one.
Just because they don’t have plans doesn’t mean they can’t make plans, right? If there’s a high enough demand, 343i may eventually start working on a fix; and demand seems pretty high.
I pay for a DLC witch works with Halo 4, when I press the button on Xbox Marketplace. And now, it works with a part of Halo 4, what is not mentioned in any describtion of this DLC. So I want a fix to use it as said in the official DLC describtion. I’m not sure, but if the players pay for something and they get less than what was official described, 343I should be criminally liable. It’s like you try to buy a sport car and get a fiat punto.
But i think there will be a fix. Because a bug like there appears an other armor set than you choose in the first person view should be fixed by a studio like 343I. And if we are lucky they fix the Spartan Ops disadvantage with this coming patch too.

I also noticed that the two packages weigh equal 355,37 MB.
That is utterly disappointing, I don’t see how they could release it in this state. Having it simply revert your armors to the default set seems like it is broken. While I am exceptionally pleased with the content of the pack the inability to use it in one of the most important modes in my opinion in the game is downright unacceptable.
Tried to re-download CHAMPIONS BUNDLE. But it is always package TARGET.
@esc1 - Yeah I’m actually blown away by this move from 343i. It’s not like H4 is so popular atm that they can afford to alienate any part of their dwindled regulars.
And it just makes no rational sense. Anything usable in Wargames like Ordnance Priority is available in SPOPS, even though its completely useless. Weapon skins and Armors are no different from any other tech-wise. Hell thers even unlockables you can only obtain in Wargames, but once you do you can use in SPOPS, like the visor colors.
And the absolute worst part was this at no time anywhere disclosed. Since H4 released all loadouts and armors have been available in both SPOPS and Wargames. If 343 suddenly changed that then they were ethically obligated to do so.
Please don’t let this thread die or be shut down. Keep it going and keep griping, but keep it civil. I’, still hoping with a large enough demand for it that 343 would update the Champs bundle to function in SPOPS.
We need to get the word out and be heard. Tell everyone, gamer or not. Tweet to those at 343 who can effect change, and let them know many of us bought the Champions Bundle specifically for Spartan Ops gameplay. Post everywhere, make YouTube vids, write blogs, just do it repectfully and in a non-harrassing manner.
This can be accomplished. Gamers can effect change if we work in concert, and make our voices be heard. It worked for ME3 ending and for Xbox One DRM.
We have the power with our voices and our money. We just have to use it better. But companies need to understand their fans are their lifeblood, not their lab rats. No fans = no game = no job. It’s happened to more established studios than 343i. And even if 343i is a MS studio? They still need to make a profit like any other.
