I’ll keep this brief as I want to get back to playing. Essentially none of the armor or weapon skins included in the champions bundle show up in Spartan Ops. Not sure if this is a known issue or not but I just thought I’d let it be known.
It’s been known for three weeks.
BS Angel told us in a random forum post that the new content doesn’t work in Spartan Ops literally hours before the DLC was released.
For two weeks, I had a thread going demanding that the issue be fixed. Two weeks, no reply from 343i; then a new thread pops up out of nowhere and BS Angel immediately responds, telling us that they can’t fix it at all.
One of the larger threads around here lately (it might not be on the front page ATM) is the discussion about this issue but I’ll summarize they key points for yah.
- 343 knows (though they certainly didn’t tell us about it in any sort of meaningful way.)
- 343 isn’t going to do anything about it.
- This is because they’re using the same -Yoink!- “Halo engine” that Bungie was struggling with, complete with the same -Yoink!- performance limitations. Never mind that other games in the same genre and format have much richer, more asset heavy co-op experiences that don’t sacrifice DLC support. This is the new/old Halo!
