Champions bundle = mediocre at best?

The pit is a good map if you like slayer. Other than that, it’s nothing too spectacular. Don’t know much about the new map to judge it. Weapon Skins never really appealed to me, and the new ones don’t look like anything to die for.

Stances look cool, but it would be better if the in game menus were designed better to make it easier to see players stances instead of shuffling through player cards across the screen. So they’re not worth the $ since its a hassle to look at them anyways.

Cool opinion, My opinion is that I like all of it

It’s interesting to say the least.

Technically speaking, Halo doesn’t allow you to add armour without forcing players to redownload all the assets the armour will be used on.

That means you’d have to normally download all the Spartan Ops, Multiplayer, main menu, etc .map files - which is a hefty download.

I’m curious how 343i are gonna pull it off.

Oh, and Mark V & ODST Armour - holy cheese, about time!

While Pitfall looks pretty, The Pit has already been remade countless times in Forge mode. I don’t understand why they chose to remake it with only a few new things. If it had the outside accessible and you could forge maps out there, then that could make sense.

Vertigo, looks nice and it’s great to see that they’re adding interactivity back into Halo maps. But come on, only two maps? I thought that it was dumb we only got 3 maps in a map pack, surely that number should’ve gone up over the years, not down.

Is it possible that that “Quick Tuning System” they developed also works with Armor/Skins and not just weapon values?

Multiplayer is downloaded to our hard drives though.

Given 343’s track record with DLC (content I PURCHASED may or may not be available based on the whims of 343), why would anyone buy another DLC pack only to find out your not going to be able to play it?

What should have be done is if you try to select a DLC map pack to play and you don’t have the content, then you are told you can’t play those maps and are given the option of gogin to buy it or returning to the game selection lobby. That’s how real software companies handle this issue.

I am excited for this pack.

Pit is a pretty good map, the new map looks interesting, the re-imagined ODST skin looks awesome, as do the other armors, and it comes with a new gamemode. All for $10.

Better than Crimson. The first dlc flop

The pit is a decent/good map, but don’t care much about it. It’s not only good for Slayer. but KOTH and Oddball. Interested to see if Extraction would be on it.

Some nice places where they could put it, like sword room, invis, or the spot in between snipe and shotty.

I’ve been very curious about this as well, since Halo has always had all of its assets stored in every .map file to allow for faster loading times and whatnot. From what I can tell, Halo 4 was built around the same idea, but perhaps 343 Industries added in a method for the game to access tags stored in a separate file for DLC armour/skins/whatever?

All that we’re missing in the armour pack is CQB armour… I miss my good old CQB… :frowning:

Maybe they can force a TU that downloads armor/skin files to all players hd so that those who didn’t purchase can still play w those who did. They don’t need to redownload anything in regards to SO, mp, it’s. it’s simply placing files on players systems, then when you purchase, it unlocks said content.

Other games have done this.

Would have been so much better if they just made the pit free, since its been in h3 and reach (as a forge remake), and even in h4 as a forge remake. Halo 4 needs as many good maps as possible, but having to pay for them is… eh.

I also know that the pit doesn’t play as well with sprint as without sprint, but since there is no option to remove it… eh.

I also won’t have it as an option in matchmaking often if I do download it.

On a technical level, Halo is built very differently from other games. If Halo 4 is anything like past Halo games engine-wise, which it is, adding new content is far more complicated than just sticking a file on your Xbox and calling it a day.

To be able to do that, you’d have to completely change the way the game’s engine works, which just isn’t feasible through a simple title update. That leads me to believe that 343i planned for the addition of DLC assets and created a workaround. Technically speaking, if we can have DLC armour and weapon skins in Halo 4, it should be just as possible to have DLC weapons and vehicles, since every asset in a Halo game is stored the same way in a map file, and injecting new armour into the game is essentially the same as injecting a weapon, vehicle, piece of scenery, etc.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that they will go add add in our lovely Hornet or Falcon into the game, so don’t go getting your hopes up!

That’s probably what’s going to happen. Same thing with BF3, everyone downloads a mega huge patch and purchasing it downloads a KB key to unlock it.

Like H3 did? and even then Bungie got a lot of flaming because people were FORCED to pay extra to play the game they “bought” and then Bungie were just a bunch of money grabbers for pulling such a cheap tactic off.

There is just no way of pleasing everyone.

I don’t see why they can’t make another thing like ODST, where all the maps are released along with a new game and new maps.

> I don’t see why they can’t make another thing like ODST, where all the maps are released along with a new game and new maps.

Thing is even then people called ODST a scam just to get all the MP for H3, many didnt even like ODST because “IT WASNT HALO” and just bought it to be able to play H3 MP.

The fact is, there is nothing 343I or Bungie could of done that wouldn’t piss a group of people off, it is always a bad if you do, bad if you don’t situation, there is just no way to win.

That means… CABOOSE WILL GET THE MARK V Helmet back in RVB! That Helmet made caboose. And I’m glad it has the back of the original Mark V, and not just the Mark VI.

It’s not a question of money and I never said anything about H3 (even though I do have the H3 and Reach map packs too).

It’s a question of allowing me to play the content I purchased. 343 offered up 3 map packs, which I purchased. There is no permanent map selection slot for Crimson, Majestic or Castle map packs. 343 randomly offers up one of them or sometimes none of them.

The only way you can guarantee a map pack is available is them having a permanent slot for selection for it. That is how it is in Reach.

All I’m asking for is to play the content I paid for.

It is clear you haven’t played MLG… The Pit is made for mainly Slayer and is best known for CTF. But I guess you could be right that slayer is the only good game type since there is no flag juggling anymore.
