Been looking around but can’t understand how this whole Onyx and champion thing goes up or down. Recently I hit onyx in three playlists my main one is elimination which I’m confused is it good that it’s 1742 or bad? Is it better if it goes up or down? How long would it take to champion?
Champions are the top 200 ranked Onyx players in a playlist, so whatever CSR the 200th-ranked Champion has is the CSR you need surpass to get his spot.
Once you reach Onyx, the game displays your CSR point total. Reaching the lowest Champion player CSR + 1 point will make you Champion 200.
So at what rank would you get champion if you have 1742 in elimination? Does it have to be above 1900?
The champion rank starting point isn’t set in stone so you would have to look leaderboards in that playlist to determine where it starts. In Elimination, the lowest champion according to the leaderboards is at 1897 so you would need to get higher than that to take that person’s place.
Goodluck, that’s a big gap! Remember, you go up based on your hidden MMR, and based on the MMR of those you beat. Higher CSR doesn’t always match their MMR, so if you have games where you beat higher ranks, but barely move, you’ll know.
