So, I hit Champion rank and I am wondering: What happens when/if I get knocked out of the top 200 for my Champion CSR rank playlist? Do I get to keep the emblem for public display, like how in MCC highest rank achieved is always displayed even if you rank down?

Was Champion 140 for Swat and lost it (Yay crap spawns and crap teammates)… kinda sucks that you don’t get anything to show that you’ve earned the rank for being top 200 in a playlist.

I can’t believe they don’t let you keep your top 200 global ranking. Probably my single greatest achievement in gaming and it will be gone without a trace in the morning. Can you rank out of Onyx to the lower tier?

Nope, this is a hand holding skill system. You can go up, but they won’t let you go down unless it’s from Champion down to Onyx (My guess they did that because they figured the kiddies that would cry when they get dropped would never make it to Champion so)

That sucks man! You should at least get some special armor or something permanent that proves you held that rank. Congrats though!
I was Champion 2 for Swat last night, but I saw people that were playing together all had the same Champion 12. I think there can be numerous amounts of people with the same Champion level? No?
Roughly what was your csr number before you got to onyx?

Not as far as I know when you hit onyx/champion no one should have the same rating as you.

Oh really? Then it was just lag then? We checked this whole *team we played and each of their said CHAMPION 12 that’s why. Also, side note - my stats did not update and I could not see them at all yesterday… is it fixed yet?
You’ll have another chance in a month when the ranks get reset for a the new season.
I was able to get into champion 61 in FFA but I quickly lost it when I didn’t play for about 8 hours. I think when players start to rack in a lot more playtime in the months ahead everyone’s stats will be a bit more accurate in putting you within your actual skill rank.

It very well could have been lag I guess- though that is still weird and I wouldn’t think it would do that. I will say that during the ten game trial I was stuck at “needing three more games” for about ten games and eventually once I powered my box off and then back on it seemed to reset and once I played those games it put me in my appropriate rank.
there should be some sort of reward for hitting top 200… flaming head perhaps?

Oops, I meant “whole team we played”… Anyway, since the data is still acting up, I think it was just a lag in updating the Champions stats as each game goes by so fast for everyone. But that’s a pretty cool ranking system letting you know that if you are CHAMPION 1 you are the only one with that rank at the time.
Hate to break it to you and anyone else with high ranks… The system is ailed gltiched. I got put in champ 18 for breakout when my buddy playing with me all 10 games doing equally well got diamond. It is really messed up and people should not get placed from 10 matches that high. Highest placements should be plat and then let people grind from there. My 2 cents.

Do you know that for sure? Probably not. Yes I wouldn’t be surprised that something is wrong with it off the bat, but my teammate and I played Halo5 Swat the minute the game became available and were also on the top of the halo tracker Swat Leaderboard the same time we were around Champ 1-4. I am not sure if they have any connection between the two ranking systems, but it shows that we definitely were on the top at that time within the first 3-4hours of the game. Our Champ rank would go up and down depending on our wins or losses.

Everyone is making the false assumption that the placement system works the same way as the promotion system. Placement is not based purely on wins. Also, Champions bracket means you are top 200. If you were one of the first 200 people to win a game the moment the game was released, you would be placed in this bracket. Making the champions bracket a grind means that bad kids could be a champion as well. Rather the champions bracket just doesn’t make sense for the first week or so of each season because it is based more on time put in rather than skill. After a few weeks go by, skill level will begin to be more accurate because a large enough sample of players have played a large enough population of games. This is why on opening night if someone got Champion rank 20 and then went to bed, they would most likely wake up and not be the same rank due to other people not sleeping and simply putting in more games.
