Champion/Bronze combo

Ran into this in SWAT this weekend, facing the same high champ, (won’t say who) low bronze. I assume so matches become easier for said champ as they were facing mostly Plats at that point. This surely isn’t the norm for champs in SWAT, right? It’s not the first time I’ve come across it but I’d like to believe the best want to play the best.

Maybe he was playing with a friend.

Of course, I would never discount that possibility. Or maybe “teaching” even, but his bronze 1 friend was destroying Plats. Must be a fast learner.

90% sure he was playing with someone on their smurf to get easy wins.

this.

Kaininn, I didn’t take a screenshot of the particular game I am speaking of, but it was even worse with us all being Plats. Regardless, I guess it is one of those things that does happen quite often.

On on a side note I remember playing you a few times recently, GGs.

thanks, i also had games where we would dominate the “superior team” but we had one unranked guy with 3kilss and 12 deaths which made us lose by 7 or 8 kills.
we lliterally would’ve won without that guy. he was NOWHERE near our skill level…

it should be fixed or at least make even teams

People do this all the time… They join on their buddy’s smurf account that is bronze so they get put in easier matches so they can grind up the boards. Another reason this rank system is flawed.

Dude I’ve run into a champ paired with 3 bronze smurf accounts in SWAT and gotten beat down like 50-10 before. It’s boosting. Lots of people do it.

But people are getting banned for it, a few pro players already got a ban for doing this. it happend on-stream

That’s hilarious. Why would a pro-player need to grind? I know not all of them are hitting champ but who cares?

It pads out their W/L and K/D to make themselves look statistically better and get Champion easier. The top pro players are of a very similar skill level and thus need every advantage they can get to be in the Champion bracket. So do the rest of the pro players, it’s a battle to decide who becomes a champ.

Yeah some of the high swat champs do this every season, if your look through their game histories they set up their fireteams in a way so they never actually have to play other champs while moving up through high champ rankings

I believe they call that a smurf or booster my good sir

It’s called Smurfing, or making temporary accounts for montages.

Pretty obvious this.
