Has anyone else noticed that when HALO 4 first came out, that the monthly challenge was roughly 117 wins, and you received 17,343 xp. Now all you have to do is win 30 games, and you get a whopping 30,000xp.
I hope it does not have to deal with Mtn Dew and Doritos Double XP promotional thing that just ended. Idk, all I do know is that people are complaining about getting to SR130 to quickly, and now it’s just getting easier. I played one campaign game for 1hr and 15mins, and would have received 40,000xp if it werent for me being SR130. We went from HALO: Reach, where those campaign challenges were GROSSLY under rewarded, to this where it’s overly rewarding.
Just something to think about…
I’m wondering why they are giving so much more xp now too.
They either want everyone to be able to use everything by the time CSR goes up or they have something else planned…
Maybe they’ll mention it in an upcoming bulletin shrug
js but many people have noticed and its probably just to get everyone leveled up as quickly as possible(assuming there will be more ranks which most are) personally i dont think that there will be.
I’d rather it was this way than how Reach was doing it.
The quicker everyone is 130, the quicker we can forget about the pathetic time-based ranking system and get back to, you know, playing the game.

i actually liked reach’s cause it was incredibly rewarding when i finally got to inheritor. although i think for halo 4 it would have been better to put max rank at about 10mil instead of just short of 4 or as ridiculously high as 20

it was rewarding cuz it wasnt simply “play game, get rank” it took an intense amount of dedication(mostly from not having other games but still) and im a completionist and i had the pre order armor and legendary and blue flames so i had to get the final piece to it all. haunted helmet.
Campaign overly rewarding? I disagree. Unlike Reach, the only way to get campaign XP is through commendations and challenges. All the commendations are simply “finish this level on Legendary”. Then you’ve mastered it. A single Legendary playthrough and you’re done. The original Campaign challenges were easier and as such had less of a reward, now they require a number of skulls, making the game even more difficult. Aside from these the only way to get more XP through campaign is finishing a LASO playthrough and entering a code. I’d say for most players it’s under rewarding.
I try to stay away from the big challenges, I like unlocking all the cool gizmos at a slow pace, I’ve decided whenever I complete a specialization I will give it a week or two, before starting a new one.
