Challenges like, “Grapple jack three enemy vehicles in pvp” ruin the game for everyone:
- I’m now playing QP or BTB instead of Fiesta (the mode I actually WANT to play) because at least PT and BTB have more vehicles.
- I’m completely ignoring the objective because I’m either running around trying to find a grapple spawn or an enemy vehicle.
- I’m not having fun because I’m being rushed by an arbitrary weekly timer which just turns what should be down-time into a stressful race against time.
- My team is not having fun because I’m bringing us down by focusing on a challenge instead of winning.
OUTCOME
I quite the game in frustration. This game did not leave me wishing I had more time to play, it left me feeling like my time would have been better spent elsewhere.
SUGGESTION
First of all, there are WAY too many challenges in the weekly challenge list. Someone would have to grind this game for several hours daily to even come close to completing the weekly challenges. Many of these challenges actively discourage team work or playing to win such as the example above. Honestly Overwatch does this the best. Timed events only require completing a reasonable number of matches - winning games is rewarded by counting for double the amount of just completing a match. This incentivizes people to actually PLAY the game and just have fun the way THEY want to have fun. The Halo Infinite challenges should just be one-time achievements tied to cosmetic items instead.
