Challenges still fail to track progress

I’ve noticed that challenges still occasionally fail to track progress.

Sometimes it’s weapons challenges, such as the “kill 15 enemies with the commando in PvP” challenge I have, which is currently at 1/15 despite having three kills with it since getting it, as a single kill in two different games failed to track.

Sometimes it’s objective based ones, which are more finicky, because killing an enemy contesting a zone doesn’t track if they move slightly outside it, so I can’t tell if it’s a bug or just terrible design.

Either way, the challenge system remains both fundamentally flawed, and buggy in execution.

Yep, this has been an issue since the first technical preview, not really sure why it still exists after all that time. ಠ_ಠ

For weapon kill challenges, I’m pretty sure that the opponent has to die directly from the weapon itself, regardless of what the kill feed says. For example, if you shoot someone with the BR and then they die by their own grenade, the kill feed will show that you got a kill with the BR, but it won’t count for the challenge.

That is plausible.
Odd though that the challenges in that case are that precise, but the kill feed isn’t.

OT:
They’re really odd.
Last week I had to get 15 ghost plasma cannon kills. Didn’t touch or even shoot at a ghost, yet suddenly I had one kill for it.
A friend needed the five killing sprees in Fiesta, had two from before, got one the first match we played, it was then 3/5, got two more the second match, only registered one as if only one killing spree per match counted towards it.

This bug continues to be the bane of my existence. 2 more kills with the commando that fail to track entirely. Considering the Commando is worse than the basic AR, it’s incredibly annoying that kill tracking is so broken.

I too have the commando challenge, and I’ve noticed the same thing. If the kill feed says I killed them with it then, -yoink-it 343, count it!
Also, I am terrible with it so I tend to avoid it. Making this challenge to be both good practice and extremely frustrating.

Yeah I had a get 1 kill with the Heatwave this week. I was thinking that’s a good one. Then after getting a Heatwave kill in 3 or 4 games without it finishing I swapped it.
