Challenges need to be addressed

It’s incredibly frustrating having to worry about challenges in a multiplayer match. It takes away from my ability to just enjoy the game. If all the challenges could be completed in Bot matches or Custom games, that would be fantastic. But that’s a good idea, so we all know that 343 won’t even think about that, they don’t like good ideas. Or critical thinking for that matter

And, you know, even if there have to be PvP specific challenges, they need to take some pages out of MCC. It’d be nice to get a pop up notification for a challenge completion. And it would also be very nice if we weren’t locked into completing a specific set of challenges before moving to the next. The nice thing about MCC is that whenever they gave us a challenge, we could complete them in pretty much whatever order we wanted.

Yes, and I’m also aware that there’s no other progression system and that they’re important to the Battle Passes.
In addition, I think the challenge system encourages FOMO and needs an overhaul to make it more of a monthly or seasonal system which would reduce FOMO and match disruption, and allow more complex challenges.

I’d say the Killjoy challenges are challenging, but they’re too challenging since you have to rely on other players.
The Back Smack challenges are too challenging because people are often moving around in Infinite.

They’d probably do something like increasing the XP needed to level up so you have to buy more XP boosts, or adding more padding to the Battle Passes.

They’re likely using challenges to get people to play certain playlists and to sell challenge swaps.

That would be nice.
It would probably need an option to toggle it though.

If that’s what they are trying to do it’s not working very well because I have 20 challenge swaps hordes from the battle pass that I don’t use because I always get swapped to a worse challenge.

Part of the point of challenges were to get people to try different things in the game if I recall. Swaps might have been a reason to it, sometimes people want to give more incentive to get people to try things out of the norm.

For me, I used all of my challenge swaps from the Battle Pass, and now that I’ve finished it, I’m probably just going to stop playing until May.

I’d say it’s more to keep all of the playlists populated, and to get money if that fails.

When I think of challenges being removed I just look at halo 5 and remember being so confused that they took them out. Same with MCC, MCC having challenges is great because they aren’t a requirement to do them you still earn XP per match and per medal but also you earn additional XP if u complete campaign or multiplayer challenges. It’s just nice to have a way to get “bonus xp”. However challenges in their current form in Infinite are awful because you have to do them to progress they are literally the only way to make progress. Imagine if they added a major seasonal challenge to get a katana on your back or the haybusa armor. My point here is that they could still keep challenges they just need a massive overhaul to make them feel like fun extra things that are worth playing the game for not some chore based partially on RNG and the only way to unlock anything in the game.

When i think challenges in this game, i think of people not playing the game properly so they are able to complete them.

Its something that ticked me off with destiny (bounties in pvp pushing people to play with particular weapons) and its the one thing annoying me enough to only play this game occasionally… and like destiny, the occasionally will probably become never.

I don’t care about cosmetics and unlocking stuff i will never use just for the sake of unlocking. I play for fun and playing a game where the rest of your team is doing side quests the whole time, is not fun.

If they rework the challenge system into something unobtrusive, that people complete naturally while playing … thats fine. Otherwise begone with it.
