But you get far more XP from the challenges than completing matches, which shows 343 is focussing on challenges…

Do you go to the store looking for the items listed in that week’s coupon list? Or do you go to buy the food that you like, and if it happens to have a coupon, you use the coupon? OR do you only buy items that you feel you are saving money by buying them with the coupon?

Agreed, Challenge system is down right awful. 343 if you ever read this PLEASE STOP forcing players to use a particular weapon or play in a certain way as the only means of progression! Challenges should ONLY be a BONUS XP offering similar to MCC. The players that want to progress faster and that like challenges can pursue them and those that don’t can progress via standard in Game performance XP. Let the players play the way they want!
PS. My challenge in this Tactical event was “get 7 Kills with Sidekick” - no problem, easy right? only my first 10 games were 6 Mangler in a ROW and 4 BR’s. So so stupid.

But the challenges won’t be completed as you play - that’s the whole point of this thread. Who in their right mind goes into a swat game and gets back smacks as part of their regular play?!

The whole event pass, battle pass and player progression is built around the challenge system hence people worrying about it.
You may not have noticed but you’re in the minority here defending a very poor challenge and progression system. Then again, you may have noticed which is why you felt the need to type in caps lock because you have to shout to be heard over all the complaints lol

I had the same problem. Jumped in and was having some fun for maybe two games before I realized I wasn’t earning any of the tactical ops awards. Played 5 games and could not get a killjoy, swapped to elden ring. I’m willing to give 343 time till season 2 to act as a minor refresh of the game, but until then they should make all of the events in season 1 active all at once. No time limit, and set all the challenges to super easy stuff.
Just let players sign into Halo Infinite, and catch up on Fracture Tenrai, winter contingency, cyber showdown, and tac ops on their own time. That would bring me back between now and May.

Yeah after 20 games I never got Mangler. It was 4 BR games and the rest were Sidekick.

Having challenges like “get 7 double kills” instead of them being “get 7 multi kills” is just insulting our time. It blows my mind.

Challenges in general are a terrible system, and I for one am playing this game minimally, only to do the events if they’re actually any fun, until they fix their progression system. It needs a complete overhaul; global progression outside battle pass, genuine customization that is cross-core, and non-challenge based XP. All basic, simple, and easy-to-design/program and yet the game launched without any of it.

I thought the back attack one would be annoying here. But I find myself getting tons of melee kills with the mangler.
Out smarting lil newbies too run past you is fairly easy with motion trackers off too lol.
The events been rather easy though so far. 7 out of 10 down, three left to go.
Might shoot for the weekly challenge visor too.
I’m on that as well. Just gotta be patient is all. 6/25 down so far.
When I get it though I’ll have completed all challenges this week.
An idea for these smaller events would be to just have the rewards build up like the Christmas event.

25… 25 Mangler kills?! Are you serious? I can’t even get a game of Mangler and that’s what the capstone is? Oh then I’m completely screwed. I would love to have that nice looking green visor, but there’s no way I’m ever getting that.
I finaly got to the ultimate challenge. Of the 6 games, 2 have been with mangler. But ofcourse 5 of them (including the 2 mangler ones) i had to fight againt way more skilled players… So i only got 9 kills 
Why o why is it so awfully difficult for 343 to implement (a functioning) SBMM!! Those extreme skill gaps and very one-sided matches are draining all the fun out of the game.

Challenges like these as ultimate challenges are really dumb cause unless you’ve really, really been grinding your only gonna have like two days tops to complete it. I don’t want to spend countless hours playing tactical slayer until it finally gives me a mangler match, which seems to be the most rare, and then have to repeat the process like 3-4 times until you finally get 25 kills
