Who thinks that 343 will bring back the Challenger Armor / Helmet into a Req Pack that would be available during the final HCS tournament for H5 Nov 16-18.
For those of you that have it, would you be upset if they re-released it?
Anyone who has been coveting this armor set, let’s make our desire known!
Personally, this and Achilles are the only ones I don’t have (that are listed) and it would be nice for the collection to be able to be completed.
This and the Achilles set are the only two sets I don’t have (not counting the Timmy/Olive helmets) and I can honestly say I hope they don’t re-release it. Like ever other Halo item in the past titles linked to a timed event/date/etc…if someone has missed it, then it is there loss. Would I like to have the armor to complete my armory, yes I would. But I missed it and that is my loss.
It ruins the whole point of the items being so special in the first place. Re-giving a chance to get them again is just a slap in the face to those who managed to get lucky and snag them when they were available.

I tend to agree with your sentiment - but I wish it were more like the Timmy/Olive.
Where it doesn’t show up in the normal listing until you get it.
I feel as though everything shown in the normal listing should be obtainable.
There are weapon skins too that aren’t listed, like the word of mouth, and I think some 343 ones too.
As it stands, being shaded out, I think it should be obtainable.
(I’m also disappointed about some of the team skins that aren’t for sale anymore, such as optic. But I know why.)
Would be cool, but I don’t particularly mind not having it re-released since it holds a lot of value for the players who got the helmet when it was obtainable.

No, like Blodhgarm92 said “I missed it and that is my loss”. I don’t want 343 to make the same mistake as they did with the Helioskrill armor.

Question:
Was Challenger originally released as part of the very first HCS Finals broadcast for Halo 5?
Wouldn’t it be fitting if it was released again during the final broadcast?
Also, there are several emblems which are most definitely time exclusive, such as all the seasons, and a few others. I’m not saying those need to change, as it’s pretty clear what their purpose and intention was.

No. I have it and could care less. All customization items should be attainable for the entire duration that a game is supported. Time-locked items like Challenger aren’t a good idea, imo. Even Athlon Champion has been made available several times over H5’s 3 years. Challenger was just a prize for watching HCS at a certain time. The only thing it shows if you have it is that you had time/availability to watch HCS when it was available, which isn’t all that special.

Originally, the plain Helioskrill armor could only be obtained by beating all of MCC on Legendary and the variants were obtained from REQ packs normally. But they changed it so where all versions of Helioskrill armor can be obtained through REQ packs, you don’t even have to beat MCC on Legendary to get it. That’s how I ended up getting all versions of the armor.

I totally agree. And I don’t think it’s fair to say “If you missed HCS 2016 then though luck. it’s your loss”. I guess a lot of people aren’t being considered. And I’m talking about people that simply weren’t able to follow HCS 2016 for a ton of reasons. And what about next generation kids that weren’t old enough at the time to play the game?
I’m totally against these limited time period items. Earning items/cosmetics by completing tasks or simply by being diligent is the best and faierst solution (Like Achilles or Helioskrill).
The only “exclusive” or “special” thing about people having the, challenger armor, is that they can say “I was at the right place at the right time to get the armor.”
So bad luck to those lying in hospital, learning for their exams, moving, … etc. No more chances for you.

I somewhat disagree with you. I am ok that it is exclusive, and not obtainable on any given day. I just hoped they would make it available just one more time.
But if you have a look at myother thread about the UI, it looks like Challenger was ‘removed’. So it’s not part of the ‘normal’ reqs anymore and wont mess with peoples OCD. Its now a special secret.

I already have those items but I would agree with you there, everyone who missed it should get at least one more opportunity for it.
That’s how it should be in every game there are way too many factors to take into account why someone did not receive the item or items when they were first released.
If they want make exclusive items then they need to do two things to avoid these kind of issues have multiple opportunities to achieve said item or supply an alternate way of unlocking said item. That’s where I stand on the matter.
Note multiple could mean two, three, ect
