Challenge system got me banned

And a bot instantly replaces you. People say the bots suck but generally my teammates do as well, bots just die less. And that could be solved by making bots better if we needed to.

SMH… Quits eight games in a row and then blames the challenge system… Sorry you brought it on yourself. Just because it’s quick play doesn’t mean you get replaced instantly by another player. While I get it’s frustrating not getting the oddball match for so many games and yeah this is the worse progression system ever you still shouldn’t quit, or at least you shouldn’t be surprised when you get a ban for quitting.

Every game I’ve played and a person leaves a bot gets added instantly and then within a minute gets replaced by a new player.

Why are people getting so butt hurt over leaving quickplay matches? I fully understand leaving ranked matches and I wouldn’t do that because something is actually at stake for other players but quickplay where we don’t even get performance based XP? Cmon guys, a lot of you are acting so holier than thou about this and not focusing on what the post was ACTUALLY about, the poor challenge system.

The challenge system is terrible but you can’t blame it when you go on a quitting spree and get a ban. Every one knows quitting enough games will get you a ban no matter what game mode. You just have to stick it out and finish games, even the ones that aren’t related to the challenge you may need.

it does. its shocking how little thought went into it. any chalenges that afffect halo negativiitly need to be scrapped. things like get 30 ar kills or get 15 assiists need to be scrapped or make them require you to also win the match. For example if im losing the match then I need to play the game properly in order to make my assist challenges count.

it shouldnt tie challenges to lottery systems then

Sounds like it was you problem, more than the challenges…

The amount of people here defending the challenge system is crazy. Yeah sure I admitted I should have got punished for quitting that many times like my post said, yeah sure I should have done my Halo challenges earlier in the week instead of running my business for a living.

Doesn’t change the fact that the challenge system just isn’t good for progression. I love this game and play it all the time, doesn’t mean I can’t have a bad opinion about one of the systems. You 343 butt lickers need to start looking at things without rose coloured glasses.

But it’s the challenge system that makes it so frustrating when someone quits. I had to play many oddball/stronghold/slayer matches to finally get the CTF game I needed for a challenge.

But someone instantly quits on my team and we get a bot who is not replaced straight away despite that being your experience.

So we lose and I have to keep trying for a CTF game again.

Totally frustrating.

Yeah agreed mate, very frustrating indeed. Totally understand where you are coming from and it needs fixing.

it’s not a problem with the challenge system. i’m fine with it
the problem is QP. legit a 1/4 CHANCE to get what YOU want. why can’t it be like the other playlists? why can’t i just que up for SPECIFICALLY CTF? why do i, the player, have to toss the dice and get something, like territories, that i don’t want to play?

why should anyone value anyone elses time??? 343 clearly doesn’t otherwise they would make these challenges a little eaiser for people who have jobs…

You are mixing two issues here.

Yes, the challenge system can be improved.
I also think there are other parts of the game that need attention first.

The other issue is that you are under the impression that early quitting is acceptable.
Do you really think I enjoy being placed in an already running match just because someone like you thinks it is perfectly fine to quit early?

And if I am in that team from the beginning do you really think I am enjoying the “343 bots” that replace you? There should be a rejoin option in case someone’s internet had a hick-up. And only to provide those players with an option to avoid the DNF flag

The only insanity here is yourself.

(Nice to see you again.)

Holy shnikies @ the 343 defense force in this thread

343’s system literally encourages this behavior. This is the direct consequence of their dogwater “playlists” that seem to be steering players away from the game modes they need. It’s really scummy to see people acting like OP is being unreasonable.

Honestly though @vileDEM1URG3 just quit playing, the game and the dev don’t respect your time, I strongly suggest finding a game that is more rewarding than Infinite is. (Low bar lol)

No I don’t think early quitting is acceptable nor do I like doing it. I have limited time to play because of work so the challenge system in place is partly to blame because in order to get the weekly reward I wanted, I had to sift through a bunch of game modes that wasn’t what I needed to play.

I understand your point.
I just think saying the game “made you quit early” so that you could get a reward isn’t the best way to make an argument about changing the challenge system.

I also recommend the ranked list if you just need to finish an oddball game.
It seems like chances are much higher to get it there. I’d say in 8 ranked games there is a very good chance that 2 of them would have been oddball.

I never meant it in a literal sense that the game made me quit early, just that the system in place promotes that behaviour.

Just seems like the devs disrespecting their players time they get to play the game.

Getting in the right game type really sucks sometimes. The amount of quits before a ban seems random, too. I usually stick to 2 quits in a day now (I only play for an hour or so in a day anyway). I’ve been banned for 1 quit in a day, too.

I can see why there are mode specific challenges like kill someone while holding the oddball; it’s a funny challenge. But I hate how I need to go through countless capture the flags or, even worse, Slayer which has it’s own playlist. Why does it need to exist in Quick Play?

I also only ever play multiplayer split-screen on Xbox, so FFA challenges can’t be done unless I want to leave my brother out of the next hour of games because I need 50 KO’s in FFA.

It wouldn’t even be an issue if we could have separate playlists for each game mode as well as the rotation playlists also.

But at the moment, mode specific challenges for modes we can’t choose at will is not working and will promote quitting.
