Challenge system got me banned

I wish I could have finished those matches, but that pesky AI that took over my controller made me quit.

You said to just troop it and play through the matches, but not everyone has the time to play every single day. If the challenges make the game less user friendly then thats just one more stack on top of the many reasons as to why a player may quit the game. And with the rate that this game is losing players, it shouldn’t be chancing that.

Exactly, I’m not wasting my time playing 8 quickplay matches that give me zero incentive or reward just to chance an Oddball match.

Nobody forces you to complete the challenges. Im not going to grind a nameplate or a color scheme for a weapon. So i just played what i wanted to play. If there is something worth as a weekly reward, then im grinding it, otherwise i just let it pass. Like this weekly reward.
Since i stopped to care about challenges i just have fun, playing only in the playlist that i like.

Yeah thats exactly what I do… I wanted the orange visor this week.

You actually got banned for your own actions and leaving a match, not because of the challenge system. There’s more then enough time through out the week to get these done and still have plenty of time to spare. Maybe next time don’t wait till the very end of an event perhaps?

This is what is called as consequences for ones actions.

Oh well… Those people who lost an important teammate wanted a fun match… You ruined it for them… and this is why you received a temp ban…

I quit a game, not commit adultery… Jesus :joy:

Nah, they would have had a fine match without me when a new player got added.

I apologize that you had to be banned because this developer is too lazy to implement superior systems so we can play EXACTLY what we want to play. You want to play one specific Playlist in the game you spent money on? Too bad! You think we want you to have fun in your game sucka? Hell no! Now get in line and play total control against your will or we will ban you!

If only a Halo game TWENTY YEARS AGO let us play EXACTLY what we wanted to EVERY TIME. Oh, wait, one did. It was called Halo PC. I wish we could progress back to the times of two decades ago.

So why did 343 ruin his game 8 times in a row? He wanted to play oddball and was denied, so 343 hindered his gaming experience unnecessarily.

Oh, wait, were you POORLY trying to insinuate the OP ruined tour game by quitting? Because that is false. You made the choice to enter matchmaking without a full team willingly, you take that risk. OP is not your slave that has to finish the game for you. Have fun being a man down like I do, it makes the game more intense.

They did, by implementing a quit feature at all. Why would they implement something in the game they intend for you bot to use and actively punish you for using? That is insanity.

Because the need to quit arises at times and is available when it does happens.

It’s not an open door when you’re losing, when you want a different mode, or when something doesn’t go right in your gameplay.

Aha! I just had an epiphany! If as you say the need to quit arises, WHY DO THEY BAN PEOPLE FOR QUITTING?!

They ban for excessive quitting, not quitting in general.

Quitting excessively (8 times in a row) is most likely interpreted as behavioral and/or intentional. Quitting once or twice a week is normal.

I’ve had 12 DNF’s of the 325 matches I’ve played over the course of the last 2 months, not a single ban. Quitting is not the issue, patterns of quitting and the reasons behind them are.

Most games have a quit feature and in most instances have some form of penalty surround quitting to various degrees.

Good point. The reasons behind quitting. Like getting disgruntled teammates, getting a game mode yoy don’t want, getting a map you don’t want, crashing, living in a rural area with limited ISP choices. Just screw gamers that actually want to enjoy their games.

The game really needs a forfeit option badly. People have way too many reasons to just quit out.

There are many, and each one is not equivalent to the other.

It’s gonna happen. The option to mute and report bad behavior should be easier to address this issues in a more direct manner. I can see some justification this to a certain extent, but there are better paths that can be implemented or taken.

Again it’s gonna happen

This is really no excuse for this. While features can be implemented to circumvent this, it’s counterintuitive to core function of the game itself, you boot up the game to play it. Both of these reasons can be broken down into further detailed reasonings that honestly don’t justify it either.

The game should have a better mode selection, and maybe a veto feature for maps, or maybe priority selection queue for good behavior, but there’s no justification to quit because “did not want”.

Is justifiable and can be appealed, and exposes deeper cracks to the game that require attention.

This isn’t “quitting” even if the game cannot tell the difference.

Becoming less and less of an issue with the passing years. Coming from someone who lives part time in Amish country and grew up in this situation, but now has better cheaper service than what’s available in my city dwelling.

Quitting because “I don’t want” is perfectly reasonable and justified. I bought the game, I should be able to play it EXACTLY as I want.

These bans are also easily avoided. Players will just start feeding the enemies kills to end games faster. In that scenario it is infinitely better to just let then quit out instead of having them ruin my game.

I hate the quit ban and I wish it was not in this game either. I don’t believe it ruins other people’s games when you quit, especially if your teammates are AFK or are already going 1-19. Arguably those people are ruining your game more than you are by quitting on them.

However, this is the system that we have. The challenges did not get you banned. You quitting games got you banned.

I don’t agree with the system but it’s been like this since Reach.

Well you didn’t buy the multiplayer, there are rules regardless of receipt.

Abide by the rules, or face the consequences of your actions. It’s pretty simple.

There wouldn’t be posts about it if they were lol.

Go ahead and start, technically griefing/sabotage if someone wants to report it.

Well don’t find yourself in my games doing this, or action will be taken.
