Imagine my shock when I woke yesterday (Sunday) to find a challenge for killing 1000 enemies on Waterfront worth 3000 cR. Now being someone who loves to complete as many Daily and Weekly challenges as possible, this one in particular seemed to be really challenging for very little payout. But I did it. In fact, in completing this challenge, I reached my daily credit cap only netting about 4,000 of the 8 or 9,000 I should have gotten for completing a 2X Score Attack game as well as the 3k for the challenge.
But now today I wake up and find yet another map-specific FF challenge – Fortified Court. Here’s the catch. Today this challenge is worth 2250 and is only for 150 enemies. HUH???
So let me get this correct – Waterfront, a map that sucks more than anything, has a challenge worth 3000 for 1000 enemies killed, which is 9 games of 2X Score Attack …
versus …
Courtyard, which is a well-built map, has a challenge worth 2250 for 150 enemies killed, which is 2 games of 2X Score Attack.
Where is the consistency? If today’s challenge is 2250 for 150 enemies, then Sunday’s challenge on Waterfront should have been worth almost 15,000 for 1000 enemies! WHERE IS THE LOVE, 343??
You want the challenges to have some logical basis? What do we live on a land of sense, where 2+2=5? To you, I say no sir! We do not in fact live in a land where things must make sense! How else do you explain the Toronto Maple Leafs NOT sucking?!
But seriously, I agree, I’d like to know that the challenges do have some sort of structure to them especially if they are map-specific.
You’re just now noticing the inconsistency for cR payouts? What I find hilarious are the challenges that are almost difficult/time consuming enough to be weeklies, but only pay out 2500-3000. At that point, I don’t even bother.
> You’re just now noticing the inconsistency for cR payouts?
No. But I was hoping that with the changeover from Bungie’s control to 343’s control that things might change, especially the inconsistency. And to change something like this would be a simple fix compared to all the other more complex gripes that people have (bloom, armour lock, AAs overpowered/underpowered, etc.) or all the seemingly endless wants (more ranks, more armour, etc.).
> Hey, at least the payouts are a little more substantial since 343 took over.

> Under Bungie it was very common to see a challenge that required two or even three games of score attack only pay out 1000 credits.
Totally agree. The actual payouts have been great, and so far the least amount I’ve seen has been 2,000 for a very simple challenge such as one assassination in a Matchmaking game. But I still feel it needs pointing out when something like this slips through, especially to people who are wanting to earn credits quickly. I don’t mind a good challenge with a great payout. But yesterday’s Waterfront challenge was a good challenge with an awful payout, especially when shown side by side with today’s Courtyard challenge.
